First off,If this is old shoot me...Im just a lurker.

Has anyone else seen this?

Basically if you buy the ps2 Rockband and get a ps3 afterwords...everything will work.I'd imagine you would need the ps3 version of the game though.

This new's was the last bit of info I was looking for before I decided to buy the game...WOOT

Does anybody know if the ps2 GH guitars will work with the PS3 version of RB?
I'd hate to see those things go to waste.

Edit:

Will the Gibson SG's from GH I and II on ps2 work with Rock Band on the PS3?

Nice info, might make me pick up the PS3 over the 360 later on down the line. If only they'd port that Dead Rising (yeah, I'm behind the times w/ 360 games but what's not to love about zombies?) over to the PS3, I'd have my decision made.

Does someone actually really know if the PS3 Les Paul (GH3) guitar is working with the PS3 version of Rockband? Because if not, I don't have a bass guitar.

Yes, I believe IGN confirmed it in an article that they posted a week or so ago.

I read that article, but as far as I remember, they were only testing the 360 version and the 360 guitars. :confused:

the IGN artical was for the 360 there hasn't been a PS3 test as far as i'm aware.

This leads me to believe that they did indeed test the PS3 version and confrimed that the Les Paul will work, but not with GH2/80's.

The Guitar Hero 3 Les Paul also works with everything and also can't be used to activate the Rock Band special effects. We tried it on Rock Band and played through roughly 10 songs without any hitches. Of note here is that the Guitar Hero 3 PS3 controller can't be used with Guitar Hero 2, even with the disc put into a PS3 that should make it backwards compatible.
