The Indiana University Gaming Club proudly presents our inaugural Rock Band Battle of the Bands.

The event is taking place on December 5th at 7:30 PM in Fine Arts room 015 on Indiana University's Bloomington campus.

The competition is playoff style, you will face off against another band in a song of your choosing in the first round. Our 5 judges will score you based on how well you rock out, your song choice and your score in game. The band with the top score moves onto the next round.

At stake are great prizes from local radio station WIUX, Roadworthy Guitar and Amp music store and Electronic Arts. The Grand Prize is a free guitar lesson from guitar guru Marvin Druin.

It's free to enter and to spectate so come along for a fun night.

Feel free to email me at tiethoma@indiana.edu if you need directions

Do you have to be a student at IU to compete? I live in Bloomington but don't go to IU, and I'd love to rock out.

I'm up in Lafayette so it'll be a bit of a drive, but I'll see what I can do to make it down there with my band. Sounds like a good time!

Damn, I really wish I could attend. Being in NYC is one problem. The second is that I can only play drums on medium, and guitar on hard. Not expert like the people in your contest probably will be able to.

My God... Some of you actually LIVE in my state? That's a rarity. And this is a RB competition? How long is one guitar lesson? I'd love lessons but I've never played a real guitar for more than a few minutes. I doubt I'd learn much in one lesson.

This is a Rockin rock band competition and the lesson will be one hour in length which should be a great start for anybody.

Figures, I move to California, then my state throws a wicked Rock Band bash!!!!

I'm originally from Evansville, sounds like you guys will have a lot of fun, a possible suggestion would be also a secondary prize for performance/style. So people aren't only just trying to get the highest scores but look good doing it too!
