some DLC not working

due to Comcast's recent screw up at my house, i haven't been able to get online in quite a while, so i took my xbox360 hardrive to a friends house and hooked it up to his system so i could download new tracks for Rock Band. and of course when i got home to play them, they don't work... it won't get past the loading screen on any of them, and it also doesn't do the regular preview of the song when the song selector is on a certain song.

any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated

You should've taken your whole Xbox, not just the hard drive. DLC is tied to the purchasing console and gamertag.

In order to play it on your Xbox now, you'll have to be signed into XBL with your gamertag.

Or you can use the new Microsoft DLC license transfer tool to relicence it to your Xbox instead of your friend's.

if i use that, will it transfer all of his licences, or can i just get the ones for the songs? b/c he's afraid if we do that he'll lose all of his stuff...

no only the licences from any dlcs you purchased anything he purchased with his own xbox live gamertag wont be affected
