I'm half opposed to the idea of having cover songs in RB, as much as I love cover songs, but there are a few covers I think would be absolutely amazing.

Anberlin- There Is A Light That Never Goes Out (The Smiths Cover)

The Benjamin Gate- Overkill (Men At Work Cover)

Killswitch Engage- Holy Diver (Dio Cover)

A Static Lullaby- Let Go (Frou Frou Cover)

Brandtson- King Of Pain (The Police Cover)

"Breed" by Otep (Nirvana Cover)

"Umbrella" by All Time Low (Rihanna Cover, best cover ever, that song was meant to be a punk song)

"Shout 2000" and "Land of Confusion" by Disturbed (Tears for Fears and Genesis covers)

"Mad World" by Evergreen Terrace (Tears for Fears cover)

All I can think of right now.

Plan B

Hah, I meant to say Umbrella and Mad World. Good choices!

The Garage Inc. Album from Metallica.

"The Weight" covered by Weezer (Originally by The Band)

And, I'm not a big fan of these guys, but I want Yellowcard to re-record their cover version of "Don't You Forget About Me."

How about some Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.

I don't mind covers (actual or RockBand ones), so long as they sound good. Machine Head's version of "Negative Creep" (Nirvana) rocks equally as much as the original imo.

I'm totally for Weezer covering "The Weight"
My picks would be:

My Chemical Romance and The Used cover "Under Pressure" (Queen and David Bowie)

Foo Fighters cover "Have A Cigar" (Pink Floyd)

Alien Ant Farm - “Smooth Criminal”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxeNZOLNh4c

Failure - “Enjoy The Silence” - There’s no music video for this, just the live video—trust me when I say the properly recorded version is awesome.

Killswitch Engage- Holy Diver (Dio Cover)

Dio Version is wayyy better.

"Land of Confusion" by Disturbed (Genesis Cover)

"Mad World" by Evergreen Terrace (Tears for Fears cover)

I would buy those two. Oh and Smooth Criminal would be sweet too.

While the Dio version of Holy Diver is far superior, it may be more enjoyable to actually play the Killswitch version. But why not both? And Smooth Criminal would be AWESOME.

Plan B

By no means did I say the Dio version was bad, I just think it would be cool to play that version of the song. I really enjoy both versions.

All the songs listed, that I'm familiar with, are vastly inferior to the originals.

(I'm looking at you, KSE and Disturbed)

Have You Ever Seen The Rain? - The Ramones (CCR cover)

I like Anberlin's "There Is A Light" better than The Smiths' version, and A Static Lullaby's "Let Go" better than the original Frou Frou version.
It's about equal between The Benjamin Gate and Men At Work with "Overkill", though.

to be honest, i actually prefer KSE's Holy Diver to Dio. i'm not the biggest KSE fan around, but i loved it.

to add:
Oops I Did It Again- Children Of Bodom
My Sharona- The Number 12 Looks Like You

My Sharona sounds really bad to me, I think it would not sell well because there is already a version available. Oh yeah, and it sounds really bad. IMO

The one I would really like to see is Die, Die Darling by Metallica (Misfits)

Black Betty (ram jam) - Spiderbait
UtqjmuUaYXA

Ram Jam's version of black betty is a cover, the song is by Leadbelly. I think Ram Jam's version would be awesome and would probably sell more, although I think the Spiderbait version is alright.

"Summertime Blues" Rush (The Who cover)

Summertime blues is an Eddie Cochran song, Blue Cheer and T. Rex do pretty good covers of it as well.
