Backed up data after error 80010514

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I had previously gotten the error 80010514 and had my PS3 serviced and returned. Prior to sending it off I backed up whatever data I had on my PS3 to a memory stick. I now go to put the data back on to the PS3 and it says there is no data. Does anyone here know if it saved my characters and all the money I had earned previously or if there is any way to retrieve this information or do I have to start all over again? Unfortunately, the rockband data is locked to the console where you back it up. So, while you can back it up and restore it to a new hard disk or something in the same console; when you RMA it you generally get a different console and so the backup won't work.

Or, in short, your data is now lost :(

There's a thread in the Rockband forum where people are suggesting that RB2 probably shouldn't do this. You may want to go there and post your support for them removing this (It's not PS3'ism, it's a HMX'ism)

I'd love to buy the trax next week, but my PS3 just croaked!

FFS, 8 months old.... Won't read any Bluray discs anymore.
Been fightin' with it for 2 days now, been all over the net reading up...
Seems to be getting more common, and seems to happen after updates? Who knows?

I believe it's my BR lens (PS3 plays anything from HDD, and no problem with DVD's)
So I'm assuming the CD/DVD/BR player's motor is fine...
I'm not gonna bother screwin' with it (Not worth my time/effort/money)
Still under warranty, so off to Sony it goes.........

Dam, gonna lose all my RB stats from the last 8 months :
BECAUSE I CAN'T SAVE/BACKUP MY RB DATA !!!!! THANX !!!!

Oh well, gonna have to start over in RB2 anyhoo, soooo?
Hopefully I have my fixed/same/refurbed/new whatever PS3 in time for RB2 ....
