will all DLC from RB1 be playable with RB2? Just something to think about for the future!
I was wondering this as well. I thought I'd throw this out as a topic of it's own. (Hi Sean:D )
They have very ambitious plans. They want hundreds, even thousands? of songs. Now assuming there will be a RB2 in the next few years, how will the huge investment in DLC songs work in the future?
Will there be a RB2 if RB is still going strong?
Are they happy enough with RB and may just tweak/patch it into a better game?
Are the songs going to be compatible? Could they be patched to work with RB2 if not?
I know questions about a future RB will not be answered at this early stage. But perhaps someone could comment on the future of what I hope will soon be a very large library of songs on my drive.
1UP: So in like three or four years from now, how many songs do you think we'll see available for download?
AR: I dunno, but the sky's the limit. We're really trying to turn this into like the iTunes of music videogames.
1UP: So it could potentially be over thousands of songs?
AR: That's our hope, yeah.
1UP: Are you planning, after the game is done, to have a team that just continues to work on that for five years to come or something like that? Do you view this as a platform instead of just a project?
AR: Oh yeah, forever. We don't just see it as a game. We really do see this as a platform for experiencing music and as such we're going big on the artists -- we've got some huge artists that are going to be in the game -- we're going mostly for original masters, and, as I said, hundreds of songs for the online experience.
