Being a multi-platform owner a few days ago I stated the 360 version would be superior. Now with the 2.0 system update released today, which I admit is somewhat underwhelming (no in-game XMB or DTS HD Master Audio decoding anyone?), Sony did add a nifty recent players guide with the option to send friend requests and messages to all which will make it significantly more social while not being in-game meeting each other.
I now would get either bundle if the PS3 had a better solution to a poor bass from Red Octane in GH3 which isn't the PS3's fault. :(
Given the update, this will make socializing with bands easier!:D

Check it out, go all the way to the right hand side on the XMB and you can see all the people you've been playing with. I have a lot of people I never even knew I played with in Warhawk about a month ago.

Things are finally coming around for the PS3. I don't see a complete overtake scenario, but they are going to catch up to the 360.

I don't think this was related to the 2.0 update though. It's been around at least for some time.

No. There is a separate area for this. Yes it had it under the PSN menu, but this is a different area all together.

I may be wrong as in the majority of the time I watch Blu-ray films, but on the right hand side there's new icons for players met and block list that I've never noticed until now. Can PS3 owners confirm this?

Yeah that's been there a long time, playerts met, block, etc.
2.0 does have themes though and somebody needs to make a Rock band theme.
