HMX, Why the Canadian DELAY?

So I already know RB is delayed in Canada.The store I preorderd from phoned me to confirm my order and they told me I would get a phone call on Dec 20th to pick up the bundle.

So why has EA/HMX/MTV not told us Canadians of the delay?You can not tell me that EA/HXM don't talk to each other especially this close to the release date.

And why the are we in Canada being delayed in the first place?And to even suggest that it's about french on the box is an insult to Canadians.Any American company that sells a product North American wide knows the Canadian regulations of both english and french on the products.

This whole thread is more about EA/HMX not telling the Canadians about the delay.I know HMX will tell us soon, but it's an insult to us Canadians to wait untill the last minute to do so!

The same reason there will be a huge rush on getting this! It is a limited quantity at launch. Canada isn't going to be excluded from the shortage. Sorry man, I feel your pain!

There will be a shortage undoubtedly, but that wouldn't mean they would suddenly exclude an entire country (a neighboring one at that) when they were promised to be released at the same time in both US and Canada. The way I see it is, if the excuse is a shortage wouldn't they handle the situation like this: Say they give Canada 30% of all Rock Band bundles, you follow this same percentage, so even if there's a shortage they get the same share they would've originally received. (PS: I know someone mentioned this theory in the other thread, I don't remember who it was but I'll give you props for this one)

if this is true it is a huge disappointment, and I agree with the OP that its annoying there hasn't been much in the way of info on why its being delayed, I know HMX is trying and all but surely someone from EA or HMX could at least release a statement informing us on the reason for a delay

I really hope HMX isn't replying because they're trying to get all the units made for nov 20 and don't wanna say theres a delay if there might not be a reason to be one. Hopefully nov 20 i will rock on my ps3.

No matter what the reason if it's shortage of bundles or french packaging there should be no delay on the game by itself.

I don't think the issue at hand is that we're being delayed it's the lack of information we have right now. If it is delayed then we got no word till basically less than two weeks away. Whereas Euros and Aussies knew they would have to wait as soon as the dates were announced. I would cope better if I knew beforehand that I wouldn't get it on the expected date.

Very true - Last I heard from EB Games here in South Australia, and also Target - they were both expecting an official date by the end of November - but were banking on a February 1st release.

Every new review & announcement of DLC is just gonna be another kick in the teeth for me until I get my hands on it - maybe SA Nick is the smart one by importing it.

I can see this being true because we just received an email today letting us know that we can only take reserves for 4 ps3 bundles and 6 xb360. Thats a tiny tiny amount for one store. Maybe they are trying to split the supply for both countries. Was it confirmed that is it delayed in canada?

Wasn't confirmed or denied, but EB Games swear it's delayed to Dec. 20... nobody seems to be able to tell us where they got that date though.

I work for EBGames and I didnt see any email about it. We usually get all emails for worldwide things such as delays. I don't know where they got that. I wouldn't listen to anything but news from the horses mouth.

There have been a couple of people here whose EB Games had Dec. 20 in the system. I called mine and they said Dec. 20 as well.

I think the fact that Futureshop and BestBuy don't seem to acknowledge that the game exists yet is part of the cause for worry, too, seeing as the game comes out in under 2 weeks theoretically.

Yeah if you think business-wise it's a bad decision. I don't recall any game ever having that kind of delay, at least not many that are this anticipated.

I think it's fair to say it's already pretty disastrously handled if there is a delay though. Something really funky must have happened if they themselves don't know if there's a delay yet.

Jeez you guys calm down. Obviously anyone anticipating this game enough to sign up and put their two cents down on this message board is easily aggrivated by any kind of confusion with regards to when they will actually be able to sit down with this game.

I am not a market analyst nor can I give HMX/MTV/EA advice as to how to handle the situation.

What is frustrating me is that there has been no official release that would answer the questions: Is there a Canadian release delay or are vendors spreading this gospel based on speculation? And also, if there is a release delay, what are the reasons?

If the reason is that they need to print new boxes with french on them ... god, just ship my copy in a plane white box and same some ink lol. However if the reason for the delay has to do with licensing songs for use in canada, then I'll start anticipating problems from ordering from a US supplier and having it shipped here.

So I'm curious, what would happen if you guys already had 10 360 preorders for the game? Do you have to call people and tell them they've been waitlisted? Is it in order of who reserved first, or does having paid off the entire game play a factor into it at all?

I preordered at gamestop, not eb (there are none near me), but I'm fearing they might not get enough in to fulfill all their preorders, and I only got mine in the system in early October...

The problem is these horses aren't talking. This is main complaint that we have here.
