Rock Band's Fender Stratocaster is not compatible with Guitar Hero 3. On the other hand, Guitar Hero 3's Gibson is compatible with Rock Band.

The GH3 guitar works with Rock Band. The Rock Band guitar does not work with GH3 (it's GH3's fault).

Erm, as far as I know only the compatibility of the Xbox 360 GHIII guitars have been confirmed working with Rockband. Nobody has tested the PS3 GHIII guitars with the PS3 version of Rockband yet.
