*drools....*
This game is pre-ordered and paid for.
Those commercials during South Park only made me want this game more.
This game begins my crazy purchases of games this month. :D

See, I've been thinking this game will suck hard because hype most of the time isn't a good thing, now I'll be buying this game because it must kick some ass.

I'd have said that but being a Canadian and the whole Rockband being delayed till Dec for canadians issue going on.
I can at least enjoy Assassins Creed whether or not I get Rockband on the 20th

Yeah! Awesome news that this game is getting good reviews. I was worried, I remember hearing somewhere it wouldn't be as great as it looked. But yeah. Can't misinterpret those reviews :D

Not that this isn't going to be a great game.... but the average play through is 8 hours.. I don't know why the reviewer says 20...
Not worth spending $60 on.
Granted there are many things to do other than the main storyline.. stuff that could probably triple the games length... but even then I don't see myself playing this more than twice through.
With a single player game like Assassin's Creed.... I'll rent it for a week or two and save myself $56.

Thats a decent point. I did the same thing with Heavenly Sword. But I beat that game in about 5 and half hours. Granted, it was amazing, but not worth 60 dollars. The problem is that I don't do that Gamefly thing because I was part of it two years ago and I could only rent 2 games a month at the most because it took so long for it to ship back and forth.
And If I wanted to rent a game from Hollywood video for 2 weeks, which is about 15 days ( 5 days per rental cycle) That would come to a shade over 25 dollars.
I'll find things to do because it sort of has that go anywhere do anything GTA type atmosphere and that will keep me entertained.

Yeah, I'm not sure where he's getting those $4 rentals from. Blockbuster, I think, was $8.99 last time I rented a game (I used a coupon to get it for free, because I'd never pay $9 for 5 days of playing a game).
I think GameFly is a pretty good deal. If you sign up as a "new" member, you can rent 2 games at a time for $12.95 a month (I think) plus tax. I've been a "new" member three times now, because I only like using it every few months, to play all the games that have been released over the past couple of months. (I've done it in March, October, and some month in between those). As long as you have different credit cards and email addresses to use, they apparently are too dumb/careless to match up my name and mailing address.
The first two times, it kind of sucked, because they had 1 distribution center in Los Angeles, and I lived in New York. The turnaround time, from when I'd put one game in the mail, and get a new game back in the mail, was about 8 days. Now they have a 2nd distribution center in Pittsburgh, so it greatly speeds up the turnaround time (~3-4 days). So if you stagger your games, you can get a new one every 4 days or so (get one, play it for 4 days, send it back, and a new one should be in the mail that day. Rinse and repeat.)
Additionally, you can go to Brightspot.tv, and watch commercials for 25-50 cents, and put $10 of that "money" per month toward GameFly, so if you decide to keep it after that first month, you can still get it for $14.95 per month, indefinitely (I think).

Blockbuster is 7.99 for game rentals... for 10 days. If you abuse the no late fee system. Which allows for a 5 day grace period before they make you buy the game unless you bring the item with you the next time you go there... which could be 3 months later and they'll only charge you a $1.50 restocking fee. So maybe $9 to rent a game for a couple of months. I concluded that games cost $65 with tax.
Do people not know about this?

Good point. I forgot about that. But if you keep it for over a month, there's no way you can return it. If you bring it back within 30 days, I guess it'd be $7.99 + $1.50 for the one month rental. At the same time though, GameFly is $12.95 for 2 games for a month. Which is cheaper. Except that's just the trial price, and it'd be $15 a month after that (if you use the Brightspot thing).

I dislike gamefly.. all the new games usually are out of stock the day of release. And because it is so close to the holidays, mail output is higher than normal. Which means it could potentially take 4-5 days to get a game.
I kept Rainbow Six Vegas for 40 something days and they only gave me a restocking fee. The employees don't like it.. and they often give me dirty looks when I rent games.... but they can't do jack about it.

I think the game will be about 30 hours for full completion. Plus, I think you can keep running around and killing guards after the game is finished which leads to the possibility of a youtube community or something to that nature to share video challenges. Sort of like they did with Crackdown...

That's true. I kind of disliked them too. When I first signed up, there were slow shipping times (because they were going from one coast to another). Then I re-activated my account, and put a bunch of the newer games in my Q thing (Heavenly Sword, Stuntman, etc) and then I included a few old games (Rainbow Six, Oblivion, etc.). About 2-3 days later, they finally shipped out a game...Oblivion. Two days after that, they shipped out the 2nd....Rainbow Six. I called them up and told them I wanted to cancel my account, because of how slow it was to send games out, and that most of the games I wanted were being skipped over (Rainbow Six and Oblivion were like #'s 11 and 12 on my list). They were nice enough to give me a full refund, and just asked me to mail the games back as soon as I could. So I played them for a few days, and mailed them back.
But the same day I canceled my account, I signed up for a new one, with a new email and credit card (so I could get the "new member" trial price). Within a couple of hours, I got 2 emails saying games had already been shipped out...Heavenly Sword and Stuntman. I also got Ratchet and Clank two days after it was released.
Maybe it was a coincidence, but it seemed to me that they were treating their "new" customer better, to try to get them hooked, and then they slack off on sending the high demand games to their existing customers.

Isn't there free roaming in this? So if you're messing around for a while it could be.
There's a local store here with $3 rentals but only for day and Blockbuster is $11 here for 7 days but with 7 extra days before any fee has to be paid.
