Anyone played the new Uncharted: Drake's Fortune demo yet? What'd you think? I personally liked it, and I can't wait to get it. The platforming controls were fun and intuitive, and the combat was pretty cool. Also, I really like the Nathan Drake character. He reminds me of the heroes in the really cheesy adventure movies from the '80s on, like Indiana Jones, Jack Colton from Romancing the Stone, and I even saw a bit of Finnegan from a '90s hunk of swiss called Deep Rising (which I highly recommend, btw).

I'll agree with both of you. The demo was amazing. I already had it pre-ordered but this just backed up that decision. The controls were awesome, the graphics were great and the voice acting was spot on.

It took me a death or two to gain full control of the fighting and to learn to conserve bullets. This game should be a must buy for all PS3 owners.

HE's based on Captain Mal(played by Nathan Fillon) from the show Firefly(one of my favs).

It's a new PS3-Exclusive adventure game that comes out at the same time as Rock Band. The demo debuted on the Playstation Store last night.

YEAH! I totally see that, too, I completely forgot about him.

I didn't know that, but when playing, I kept thinking of how they were similar (and I've only seen 2 episodes of FireFly).

Anyway, I'll agree with everyone that it was an enjoyable demo. I was hoping for a little more puzzle-ish stuff, but that's just a minor complaint.

I actually had fun running through water, to see how his clothes actually get wet based on touching water. Run in up to your knees, and only your pants from the knees down gets wet. Do a barrel roll, and you get soaked. It was a nice detail. I have the fascinations of a 5 year old.

I found it unoriginal, unentertaining (is that even a word?) and no fun at all.

Why's that?

Too much like Tomb Raider in premise/setting.
Cover system too much like Gears.
Only able to hold 2 guns and one has to be the pistol.
The actual aiming and shooting feels off. (No it's not the lack of rumble,CoD 4 is fine)
Melee feels tacked on.
Platforming seems awkward, probably the way he jumps.
Story isn't intresting, now that I think about it the characters aren't either.
Just feels more like work to play than being fun.

I agree about the pistol thing, that threw me off at first.

Well, I really enjoyed the demo. The game is gorgeous. The combat was pacing was well done. I liked how the enemies would flank you, and try to flush you out with grenades. I found myself leaping from cover to cover just trying to avoid grenades. It did seem to be a bit linear. Being in a jungle, you would think there would be more of an exploration aspect. Then again, it is just a demo. I've had high hopes for this game since it was announced, so I will definitly be getting this game when it is released (maybe a little later, because I'll be broke from Rock Band).

I love how everyone associates that cover system with Gears. Killswitch had it first, infact I think thats where Naughty Dog said they were getting the idea.

I saw the gameplay vid of this in gamespot, and it made me want to buy a ps3 for it that second. It looks right up my alley. O well...........

Probably because no one remembers Killswitch. Even before that Winback had one, something before that too probably. Gears just did it best and the one in this game is more like that one than any other cover type system.
