I dont remember anything being said about the guitar effects. I think IGN mentioned it once, but nothing about what effects you can get and how different they sound.
I understand that you can only use them during solos? How many effects are there? How do you apply them, as in if you are using one effect, can you change it out later? Does the guitar have "slots" where you can apply several and switch mid-solo?

Anyway, its just a part of the game thats not had any light shed on it and its another unique distinction from GH3.

Off the top of my head, they are Chorus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8MyUIkKEx0), Echo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6s3F0OSHATw), Flange (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoN2ivA58KM), Wah-wah (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaoKnavmxG0) and dry(no effect). They are active during solos and when your Overdrive is activated. You apply them with the toggle switch on the guitar (although this is definitely NOT what the switch is for on a real guitar...)

I believe there are extra effects that can be purchased as well. If nothing else, I remember treading that you had to purchase these effects from the Rock Shop, so I also assume/hope there will be more.

I play real guitar, so I know what they are. lol, and yes, the switch on real guitar is used for switching between pickups.

Theyre played during overdrive? Wont that sound a little strange if the guitar suddenly sounds completely different? From playing real guitar, switching effects half way through a riff/verse rarely sounds good.

Oh, and no synth effects? Aw.

Only during overdrive and soli? That kinda sucks... :(

GH always had a heavy chorus during Star Power. Just switch it to a milder effect during overdrive. Also, the flange effect sounds really good, and is balanced well enough to fit into most songs.

The effects switch is awesome! I was playing Say It Ain't So yesterday and during one of the last solos I think it was Echo that I had on and it sounded bad ass.

Where'd this come from? If so, that's fantastic. I really enjoyed the effects when we used them on tour--flange and echo were my favorites. I didn't mess with Reverb or Wah too much, but I will once we crack open the game. I think matching the effect to the song will play a big part in not making it sound "out of place" -- match flange to a track where the guitar already has some dirty vibration, for instance.

I wish they would have done stomp boxes. That WAS what that ethernet slot on the bottom of the explorer was for, was it not?

Ditto. Stompboxes are pure rock.

What would've been cool was if the switch on the guitar applied EQ to mimic the positions of pickups, and then we had stompboxes. :D

Are people not satisfied with anything around here? Isn't it enough that there is an effects capability on the guitar without saying they should have done it a different way? This way if you want to use the effects, you don't have to use your leg to activate it. If you don't like the effects going off during overdrive or solos, you can turn them off too, and easily. Apart from the slightly unrealistic manner in which it was implemented, I can't think of a better way they could incorporate the effects. They sound good in the game, they're incredibly easy to select (even mid-song) and activate.

I don't think anyone is complaining, or unsatisfied. We just like the idea of a stompbox, because it feels more "rock". I love the 5-way switch, and I think it's awesome. The only way to make it more awesome would be with a foot-switch. I totally understand why they didn't use one here (too expensive), but it would be AWESOME for someone to do.

I might just have to get an old Xplorer and mod it :D Who's with me?

It was just one of those "it would be cool if" statements. I think they did everything as feasibly possible to make this game as awesome and affordable as it is. I wouldn't change a thing about this game. I know if there is a RB2, they will once again come to us for suggestions and I will yell out stomp boxes, that is all.
