I've already prebooked here in canada, but am going to attempt to get one on the 20th in the states. However, since I can't preorder one in person (or online), I'm just gonna show up on the release date when the doors open. Here's my question to the community? Am I better off hitting gamestop, walmart, target, best buy, super K, or somewhere I haven't even thought of??? I know the game is gonna be in high demand with low supply...so what's the best bet to ensure I score a copy (for ps3, not that it matters, but...). I've never been through this process over a game before, so hopefully some of you have some tips (that don't include sleeping on a sidewalk!!!). Cheers folks!

If you can get to a Target or Walmart right when they open, I don't think you will have a problem getting one. Definitely go to some place that does NOT accept pre-orders.

From what I understand, Best Buys should be well-stocked. I wouldn't expect Gamestop/EB to have ANY spare copies.

id avoid going to a store that took preorders. since their stock will be more limited. did best buy take preorders? i saw on the site you could preorder and still pick instore pick up, but the preorder option is just for the game only, not the bundle.

wondering if they offered it up before, and just stopped once they hit a certain number.

Stand on the sidewalk... Well your best bet is actually to follow what the other people said. GameStop is oriented towards games though as Best Buy has everything thats electronical (car stereos, movies, TVs, etc.) but they are the ones that got the demo so off of that and what other people say, just pick one. Wal*Mart probably won't have very many because their gaming section of the store can't hold much.

24 hour Walmarts?

I don't have one near me, but I hear they put out new games at 12am.

They do. That is how I got my Wii on launch day. Only had to show up 2 hours before, too. :D

i was just looking at the black friday ad scans for best buy and circuit city. neither advertise rock band...shocking since this is a big holiday item. could it be that they think they will sell out before black friday?
i think the black friday ads usually are in the wednesday paper though, so maybe rock band will be advertised in the sunday paper (11/18).

Yeah I think there are some laws whose ultimate effect are that stores don't advertise things unless they know they will have some in stock (which often involves purposely hoarding them until Friday even if they are in stock before then).

Don't they advertise the lesser of the prices for Black Friday? People do Black Friday for the sales and for taking care of a massive portion of their lists. Spending $150 on one game might defeat that purpose.

but the whole point was that rockband is something that could be on their list. and i suppose they could do the dirty tactic of slashing the was $199, now $169! advertising :)

They could... And Rock Band is fun for up to 4 members of the family!

Rock Band for Black Friday!

But I'm still picking mine up on Tuesday... I actually just used a vacation day to have that off.

i dont think anyone here is waiting till friday. just merely pointing out that signs are pointing towards a sellout pretty quick. thought that maybe the ea interview regarding a possible shortage was just a scheme to create a frenzy, but maybe they really are short in producing all the hardware.

I'd say try a 24 hour walmart around midnight. I have two 24 hour walmarts here and I know the one I go to NEVER puts new releases out at midnight, they wait until 7 or 8 am, so maybe you could campout in wally world for a night,LOL

And, I will be PISSED!!!! if my Gamespot gives up my preorder at 9 or 10 am and by that time the complete stock at walmart is gone, lol

Without a doubt stay away from gamecrazy. The chain stopped taking pre-orders nationwide like over 2 weeks ago.
