ROCK ON

1) At the current rate, this game will get a lot more DLC songs than GH. The current count:

GH2 & GH3 DLC:
GH1 retreads: 12
New stuff:
MCR, Indie, Foreign songs, Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver packs: 15
Informally announced: Boss battles: 3
Total: 30

Rock Band Announced DLC:
Who's Next Album: 8
Grateful Dead songs: 18
Police, Queens of the Stone Age, Black Sabbath, David Bowie, Punk packs: 15
Metallica pack: 3 or 6, uncertain
Other individual songs announced: 9
Total: 53 or 56

Rock Band rumored DLC:
Nevermind Album: 9

So, about twice as much Rock Band DLC has already been announced as came out for GH2 or GH3 already.

2) Ballroom Blitz, Green Grass & High Tides, Mississippi Queen, Paranoid, Run to the Hills, Tom Sawyer, and Train Kept A Rollin' are covers; the rest are masters.

You can watch videos of both songs at www.rockband.com, they both sound great.

Of course, there's been no official word, but it's safe to assume there's a whole lot of awesome DLC still to come.

that sounds great to me you have been very informative guys. I saw welcome to the jungle in a vid but am not sure if it's still in the track list? it sounded like a cover song aswell

Yes. Lots more. That's the plan.

In the past the Black Sabbath masters and cover have been almost exact minus a few things (like they sped up Iron Man in GH). And the Highway Star cover is, in my opinion, better than the original.

That was a master track, but is not featured in the game. That was a very early revision of Rock Band and they were using that song informally to get people excited about the game. With Slash signed as a spokesperson for GH3, they tastefully removed it.

It's unofficial, but I'm sure that Guns and Roses will be DLC at some point.

1UP: So in like three or four years from now, how many songs do you think we'll see available for download?

AR: I dunno, but the sky's the limit. We're really trying to turn this into like the iTunes of music videogames.

1UP: So it could potentially be over thousands of songs?

AR: That's our hope, yeah.

I'm guessing MUCH more DLC then any other game :D
