We all know that Rock and alcohol go hand in hand. Even little emo kids that aren't straight edge drink themselves blind. I can't explain it, but something about rock just make people want to drink afterward. With Rock Band on the horizon, what are your preferences of drink? I know we have some college kids out there and some of you will be downing something tonight, so what will it be? How big do you get it? Here is my contribution:

When it comes to beer, I prefer Ziegenbock. If not that, then Shiner.

Two comments: You're out of JD. And, good call on Grey Goose (I see Stoli in there too).

I think I'll go with JD for Rock Band to go with HMX's obvious love for it. I'll probably play a lot with my family, so the kids will have to stick with wine coolers (JK, they'll drink the bourbon and they'll like it!).

This is entirely weird... I was thinking this afternoon of making a "What's your favorite drink?" thread in here, and now I come to find I was beaten to it!

My drink of choice is Jack and Coke. While I do enjoy some other things (SoCo for shots, White Russians here and there), I don't often stray from Jack.

But my liquor collection during college was almost as big as what you've got displayed....

To add to my previous post: to get drunk I usually drink 100 proof Sminroff and coke. But, when I'm drinking to enjoy my drink, I drink good (and pricey) scotch and whisky.

Most people that know me from the chat know that I do the first of those often.

Number one drink of choice...Bushmills Irish Whiskey (no whiskey is better or smoother)

Coming up second is Southern Comfort.
Third is Captain Morgans

No mixing, just straight up on the rocks.

Beer is Becks Dark all the way with Guinness on tap a close second. there are a few local breweries that have great ale and pilsner however.

If you're mixen your liquor you drink for the wrong reasons. IMO

I almost forgot, White Zinfindel, Pino Noir and Cabarnet Sovignon are my preferences with dinner.

I'm a strict beer drinker. No hard stuff for me...just don't like the taste. In my 35 years on this earth, I've tried countless times to give whiskey, scotch, gin, tequila, wine, cognac, and the like its chance to change my mind...and I just can't develop a taste for it.

BTW, I'm drinking an Amber Bock right now...at home...with the wife and kids.

I like to think of my self as an experienced drinker, give me anything and Ill drink it. I dont care about quality unless Im drinking hard liquor, and even then only cheap vodka gives me the shudders, as well as flashbacks to high school. Most of the time I drink keystone by the case. and If Im feeling frothy I drink, in no particular order, moosehead, coors, new belgium, st paulys girl, corona, and many other beers that I havnt drank in forever because Ive been broke. but recently theyve been making me feel like a fattie, so Ive switched to Jim Beam, on the rocks. Coke is for crack babies. (offense intended daesania) But Ive never understood the whole: saving of empty bottles for decorations credo. Its almost like being proud and loud about being a frat boy. whats the point? Id rather rubber band my testicles.

Today I started working at a Liquor super store called Dan Murphys, dunno if the store exists in the US or not.

After packing shelves for 8 hours there was no way I could go home without pickin' something up. My choices were as follows...

Canadian Club and coke pre-mix
Strongbow original cyder
Tooheys Extra Dry (beer)
Red Bear Vodka and rasberry pre-mix

I went with the red bear but only coz it was the only thing under 10 bucks... which was all I had on me. Man, they are goin down sweet... *reclines* Ahhh...

As a matter of fact, I had people over last night to play cards and GHIII. I'm feeling a little hung over now. And I very rarely get hung over.

I made a special kind of mojito once. It was a coconut mojito...and omg, it was the sh*t.

Ingredients/Instructions
1. melt 1/2 to 1 cup sugar till its liquid (depending on how sweet you want it).
2. take 3 mint leaves and crush them at the bottom of the glass, then pour the melted sugar ontop of the crushed mint leaves (add more or less sugar depending on how sweet you want it to be.)
3. cut a lime in half and squeeze the juice of just one half of the lime.
4. add ice, and fill the glass half way with club soda
5. fill the other half of the glass with Malibu Coconut Rum
6. mix, and then garnish with a sprig of mint and/or slice of sugar cane and ENJOY!!!

I'm definitely a beer guy. The mixed drinks I like aren't usually considered 'Rock', so I'll likely stick with beer of SoCo while playing RB. Otherwise I tend to like mojitos, black orchids, or lots of peppermint patties (especially in the winter).

Heres a good one I created. I call it "Blue Balls" (name is probably used for something else but f*ck it).

Take a can/bottle of Jones Soda: Berry Lemonade
1. Fill the glass half way with the soda.
2. Add 1 shot of Bombay Saphire. (or 2 shots if you wanna get hammered)
3. Serve on the rocks!!!

Another good way to get hammered without realizing it is UV Blue Vodka with powdered lemonade mix and club soda. Put as much lemonade mix as will dissolve, and about 4:1 vodka to soda. Girly, maybe. But you won't care once you're wasted.

I usually just hit Bud Light, yes I do know that it's flavorless piss rice beer, but it's easy to chug and does the job. But when I'm feeling fancier I usually go with Boulevard Wheat (it's made right in my back yard... well across the Missouri river from my back yard) or some Sam Adams Boston Lager.

I quit drinking liqor a while ago. I don't know why, but one day I just stopping liking everything. Everything except tequila.

Ok...no, heres the deal. There is no "girly" drink or "manly" drink. It annoys me when people refer to drinks as a specific gender. If it tastes good to you, DRINK IT. Those people who make fun of others for drinking something they enjoy are douches. *takes a breath*

One of my special holiday treats. Goes perfect at a party on Christmas eve! Doug's famous (kinda) Kaluah Mudnog

Ingredients are simple and it makes for a delicious drink!!!

Take Eggnog:
1. Put ice in a glass
2. Fill half the glass with Eggnog
3. Fill the other half with Kaluah


Sounds gross to some, I know, but try it, its great! Its the perfect answer to Eggnog with rum!

Theres a bar in Savannah that has this slushy drink called "call a cab", omg...one of those and you are done. I need to find out what they put in it.

The Hurricanes they make at Pat O'Briens on the riverwalk are f'n amazing. Two and I'm sloshed. I just now recovered from Friday night. I got beligerent drunk. I don't remember how, but somehow I ended up in the Basement level of a club called the Rev Room. Funnier thing was I was dressed nice. Even funnier was someone pissed me off and I threw a drink against the wall and it shattered into a million pieces.

Never start your night on Goldshlager and never take me to a club when I'm hammered. Let me get hammered there. I'll be less hammered that way because I hate paying $3 for a Bud Light.
