Please give us "Drain You", that would be the sweetest thing ever. I can just imagine myself pounding the drums as Kurt bellows out "One baby to another says I'm lucky to have met you". Dude it would be so frickin amazing. No teen spirit though.

think of what the games focus is on, letting player play and recreate thier favorite classic rock fantasies. granted, newer bands and songs are in there, but they and thier bands all tend to follow the concept of Rock Stars. adding Metal bands that fit that kind of scenario would certainly be appreciated and a good gesture, just adding them for the sake of adding them seems rather risky.

Bull****, there is nowhere that states that this is to create a Classic Rock experience. It is to have all types of music, and besides, for the harder levels it almost becomes mandatory to use Metal songs, they are simply more technical.

Benjamin is right. You'll never find a classic rock song that can match up to a blazing speed metal song like Hangar 18. It is important to include classic songs for their ease and commercial liability; but that does not mean you must exclude metal songs.

right, but i think your also missing the larger message.

yes, Hanger 18 is a Metal Song. So is Iron Man. so are alot of songs in there. My point was that the songs that should be added are classic Rock/Metal songs, or inspired heavily thereof.

Lamb of God is a great band, i like them alot personally, but i would not personally add them to RB because (at least to me) it would throw off the feel and overall scheme.

I personally do not care for Kiss or thier music, but it makes for good music for a game that is focused (or at least portrayed to be) very focused on what it means to Rock Out.

I fail to see where you're going with this.

that certain songs, bands, subgenres etc. probably would not be good for the overall focus of the game.

when you start to make a game you can base on three basic principles: Gameplay, Story, or Technology. GH and RB both, as you touched on, are rythm games and are based on Gameplay. From there you move onto the Focus of the Game, which isnt just about playing difficult instrumentals in songs(cause if that were the case i would think an Orchestra game would be much more appropriate), but also playing along to classic Rock and Metal songs, allong with new hits that will become classics.

I believe(in my personal opinion) that new music(besides Drist)in general, blows. Seriously, I am ashamed to be born into this era of music. Especially the death metal that fits into that category. I do like Laid to Rest but it is a terrible song. I only like it for the experience it gives you in the game. That is the only new death metal song that I enjoy. If you give me the old metal like the Megadeth, the Sabbath, the Ozzy, the Metallica, the Iron Maiden, The Motorhead, and stuff like that, I will love it

P.S.- New music really blows.(Just actually listen to the songs and you will know what I mean)

If I said it once I've said it 2 or even 3 times - you live in THE BEST ERA OF MUSIC EVER. I know, hard to believe. Let me explain. Virtually all the music that came before now is available commercially. You want to listen to the Rolling Stones or MC5 go for it. You want to listen Blind Lemon Jefferson or Lead Belly? One click away. You want to listen to Drist or Laid to Rest, someone will sell it to you. Everywhere you look there is going to be crap music. That's part of the fun in finding something you think rocks under a pile somewhere - it feels like it is yours.

We live the best era because of the fact that you can get the music easily, but the enjoyability and entertainment from the music (in general) has decreased a lot as time has past. I don't feel the rush from new music like I do from the Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Megadeth, etc. I am just saying that, in my personal opinion, I am very disappointed in the direction that music is going in. I know some people are going to get pissed at me for saying this, and I am perfectly fine with that. You have your opinion(s). I am just a 14 year old boy who doesn't like new music.

well i would have to say that unless you lived in the times your opinion on that is kinda nulled and voided. i love those old bands too and i'm 19, but i dont think that new music is dead. there were alot of BAD rock bands back then, as there are now. there are also some serious gems now, as there were then. The Darkness, White Stripes, Hammerfall, Jet. because we are so young we have both really only been exposed to the better bands that have been out there, so we get landed with a huge bias.

I can't really argue with that, I guess you are right.

There are some good bands out there, but I just think that for "the most part" that is what I mean when I say "in general". It is impossible for me to hate all new music with 2 of my older brothers listening to all new music, but there are more terrible bands than there are "gems", but I have not given up all hope that someday music will be as great as the old days.

Sorry GNR, I was just stating an opinion. i do have to agree with you that there are [U]some[U] new good bands out there, but I also agree that there are more terrible bands than true diamonds in the rough.
