I think it's more frightening that no editor caught the fact that the map was wrong. I have a feeling that the person who asked the question was just having fun to see what the response would be.

Actually, it's not entirely inaccurate. Russian hackers are trying to knock the homepage of the Georgian president offline, and he responded by having his office's online presence (and his own personal site) located on a server based out of Atlanta, which now too is facing the hacker threat.
That being said, the fighter planes have yet to be summoned to Atlanta... just Tbilisi.
