Quick question or 2 about the mic.... a) will any old usb mic work? (I'm thinking a headset of some type for bwt mode by myself.... b) if using a mic stand (again, for bwt) will you lose points if you don't do the cowbell/tambourine thing?

a) Yes. Try to use "real" mic rather than a cheap headset. You will be happier with the results.
b) No, you do not "lose" points and you do not break your streak. You will score slightly lower as the "percussion" hits are extra points.
