View Full Version : Anyone find it hard to switch between RB and GH?

I'm very new to these games. Played my first one less than a month ago, bought the Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundle for PS3 and was hooked. Then my birthday came along and someone bought me Rock Band. Since then, I've been playing nothing but that.

Now tonight, I decide to go back to the Les Paul and Aerosmith and it just seems like too much of a difference. Before getting RB, I was just moving into Medium and I had no idea about lag calibration. I'm currently moving onto hard in RB. The notes just seem to fly by much faster on GH. Is there truly a difference in speed etc. or am I just having a weird night?

Hmmm...I don't have any trouble going back and forth actually. Never noticed much of a speed difference as long as I'm still on the same difficulty.

I do notice that the "angle" of the chart is different between the two, maybe that is making it appear faster?

I can take both in easily, switching between the two. Only difference is I hate the angle on the fret board on GH as I am used to the Rock Band one. I think this effects how you play some notes, alt strumming and all that.

yeah, the angle of the fretboard in GH makes the notes seem to scroll faster than the same difficulty in RB. I personally can switch between the two games rather easily, and you should be able to do the same, as long as you don't go too long without playing one or the other. I find that going even just a few days without playing either makes me really rusty and in need of a couple good warmup songs before I start to play seriously.

Over time your senses and ninja skills will improve and you will slide seemlessly between games.

Well, I don't get it, I'm 5 starring/95-100% on Rock Band Medium and doing fine on Hard, but getting 3 stars in GH Aerosmith on Medium. Doesn't make sense.

I'm pretty sure its due to the window of time you have to hit notes in each of the two games

This might not work for somebody who doesn't play on expert, but you can try the hyperspeed cheat in GH:A. I think its O B O Y O B O Y. It did wonders for me. Who knows? It might just help you out.

And this speeds it up? How would that help here lol

I know it sounds weird, but while it makes the charts go faster, it spreads the notes out further apart. Just give it shot, what harm could it do? It seriously raised my scores by 3, 4, or even 5%. Although I'm not sure if it will help out since you're on medium, but give it a shot. It could help immensely.

Hmm I just did this and set it on 1. The board seems faster but I seem to be hitting the notes more too. So weird, I'm now getting 4 and 5 stars. Thanks for the tip! I'll keep trying this.

No problem, I didn't think it would help when I first tried it either.
