At the start of the project, we created our dream list of bands. We had a list of about 2000 or 3000 songs that we whittled down into a list of 200 or 300 songs, and then we went out and tried to get all of those songs. We had an amazing response, and all of the labels were really, really responsive as to some of the bands that we could get. We were able to get The Who, which we never were able to get before, we were able to get the whole of “Nevermind” from Nirvana, which was way beyond our expectations and is incredibly awesome. In terms of the thought process behind it, we wanted to get the whole spectrum of rock, from the 1960s to today, essentially.

I bet this is the only reason they put Hole in the game.

I hope it comes out very early on in the DLC rotation, it's easily my favorite thing announced for Rock Band. I cannot wait to purchase that whole album and play it constantly. I'm glad it is finally confirmed.

I also agree that I'd love to get In Utero and even Incesticide up there. There's some really killer tracks on both albums, with good bass, guitar, vocal and drums. ...although am I allowed to be a mega Nirvana-fan if I never got Bleach?

Anyone know if this confirmation includes Endless, Nameless? I think it would a sweet song to have a jam at the end on because that's pretty much what the whole song is. It would be awesome if they could make a jam in the middle too or something. Just an idea.
