If you haven't heard the movie has been delayed 8 months. I know many of you won't care but I know there a few potter fans here. Kinda pisses me off but what can you do.

Was planning on seeing the movie opening day. What a piece of sh*t Warner is.

Warner fails to get X amount of money = crapload of movies delayed?

They blamed it on the strike^^^

I really hope this means the movie will:

A) Get a stronger rating
B) Be longer and as a result, be more thought out as a movie
C) Still set us up for movie 7 in 2010 & 2011

The picture is completely, absolutely, 100 percent on schedule, on time. There were no delays. I've seen the movie. It is fabulous. We would have been perfectly able to have it out in November.

The most disappointing thing about this is that it's just to make more money. http://www.hpana.com/news.20576.html

Read some of the Harry Potter community forums. This is a heated discussion, to say the least.

Of course it is.

A lot of us were looking forward to November.

Movie 6: July 2009
Movie 7(Part 1): August of 2010?
Movie 7(Part 2): November of 2010?

I think that is what they plan to do...

That is at least wait-able.

The original release schedule was something like:

Movie 6: November 2008
Movie 7 (Part 1): November 2010
Movie 7 (Part 2): May 2011

Also, the delay makes sense, considering that there are a lot of links between books 6 & 7.

So the only reason they're moving it is because they don't have a movie for the summer. Nice.

My Harry Potter enthusiasm died down immensely after the release of the seventh book. It wasn't that the seventh book was bad, it was just that I was done with the series. I read it, story over. I know how it finishes. No more mysteries. When the fifth movie released a few weeks later, it took me about 2 weeks to get around to seeing it in the theatres.

This only helps further the lack of interest.

I heard about this at least a week ago...maybe longer than that. I'm still sad. :(

I find the Harry Potter books to be sophomoric and ill written, often introducing supposedly static features in a story (or even contradicting earlier books) just to explain a plot device which was written before any of those said features. They're the worst kind of tripe. Diana Wynne Jones wrote these kinds of stories a long time ago (small boy discovers he's magic, explores a fantastic place, a villain tied to him and so forth) and did it much better in Chronicles of Chrestomanci.

My wife however, loves them (She likes Harlequin romances too, so there you go) and she will be pissed about this.
