anyone have any experience with a screwed up iTunes library

when I opened iTunes today it told me the library file didnt appear to be valid so it attempted to repair its self....and now in my library I only have the first 1500 songs or so also half of the artwork and play counts are gone, is there another way to get it back, maybe from the .itl file it made a backup called itunes library file(damaged).itl and its large so I know it has to be in there but i cant import it

any suggestions would be appreciated I spent too much time working on it for it to be gone

nevermind

apparently if you hold down shift as iTunes loads it lets you select the library files you want to load and for some reason when you select the "corrupt" library like this it works again


time to make a gazillion backups
