Thought it would be fun to do a blast from the past and see what all you loyal RB forumers' first post was. Copy and paste your post EXACTLY as it was below:

(since I first joined before they upgraded the site and made me switch names, my first post was under sweett310, not sweet-t310)

November 21, 2007 (week of release)

So I know this probably isn't a pressing issue because everyone is so focused on drums and guitar, but just because I want to have a solo career in all four aspects of the game,

How do you start a solo career on Bass???

When I go into the Solo Career menu using the guitar, it doesn't give me a choice between guitar and bass, it just automatically assumes that I want guitar. It allows me to buy a bass in the rock shop, but I can't play it!

Any help available?

Ahh, how young and jaded I was back then.

mine was a reply to a thread titled "Nine Inch Nails SUCKS!"

July 30, 2007

NIN is good band.

The Downward Spiral and Pretty Hate Machine were great albums.

I definetily want 'mr self destruct', 'head like a hole' and 'march of the pigs' on RockBand

My first post on Oct 5 before the upgraded site. I was Rocker2.

So far Rock Band has a great song list but I'm dying to see a Beatles song in the game. The Beatles are one of the best bands of all time and there are so many songs by them that would be fun to play in Rock Band. Helter Skelter, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, etc. So far though they have not announced any Beatles songs yet. I would love if they added a Beatles song but the chances are beginning to look slim because they will only announce 10 more songs not counting bonus songs. I think it would be unfair not to have a Beatles song considering they have Gimmie Shelter by The Rolling Stones.

Here was my first post under my present name on Jan 5, 08 after a battle with the replacement guitars:

I know I've seen some other posts about this, but when I got my replacement guitar, the strum bar works great, but now the only way I can easily go into overdrive is by hitting the select button. If I try to use the trigger mechanism, I pretty much look like I'm having a seizure because it takes 4 or 5 "lifts" of the guitar to get it to work, if it does at all.

Has anyone modified their guitar to make this easier? When I had my old broken strum guitar, I took it apart to try to remedy the problem so if someone has a way of easily modding the trigger switch, I'd be greatly appreciative.

I think mine was in a request thread where I suggested that the game needed a more in-depth multiplayer experience. (This was way back before there was much concrete information about Rock Band 1)

I think they delivered.

Hmmm, interesting...

Thread: How about letting us download any 3 songs for 5.99

My guess is the way DLC is set up on the systems. You can either buy a pack or the single song. You can't buy multiple songs at once, so the DLC system is not set up to allow a company to give discounts on multiple purchases unless they specificly group songs together and load them up as a seperate purchase.

I'm also a drummer and am really looking forward to this. For the peripherals, I'm expecting awesomeness from the Harmonix team. What I'm hoping it won't be similar to is the DrumMania hardware seen here:(took this out for the repost)
With increased spacing between pads, I wouldn't mind it as much.
What I'm also interested in is what type of drumset its being developed for: 4-piece, 5-piece, etc. It would be great to at least have the basic 5-piece with two cymbals but that could mean a rather larger perhipheral and increased cost. But since the music won't be DrumMania-esque with the songs being licensed rock songs, possibly many from an era when uber-large drum sets were common place, I think it would be necessary in order for the hardware to appropriately interpret the songs. If Alex is saying "a really impressive piece of hardware" I'm going to guess its nothing near as simplistic and outdated as the DrumMania hardware

funny to read that now, heh

in a topic about NIN's Year Zero:

6/9/07

eh... i was pretty disappointed with year zero. NIN is one of my favorite bands, but i thought alot of this cd sounded like a bad remix rap album. survivalism and my violent heart were the only songs i liked.

in response to the question about my favorite album, it would hands down be the downward spiral. i can listen to the first 8 tracks+hurt over and over and not get tired. it's awesome. ruiner is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Mine was a reply to a 'which RB bands have you seen live' thread.

Foo Fighters
Garbage
Metallica
Nine Inch Nails
Queens of the Stone Age
REM
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Smashing Pumpkins

I won't even begin to list the other bands I've seen live...too many to mention.
I can mention the last concert I went to, which was a Kamelot concert last week. Good stuff, wish they'd make it into the game somehow (but I doubt it).

Apparently mine was requesting Avenged Sevenfold and others.

I would really like to see some Avenged Sevenfold make it on here, songs like Beast & The Harlot, Sidewinder & Bat Country would be awesome. Other bands I would like to see make it on here are Atreyu, Marilyn Manson, Korn & Primus!

My first post was in a thread I made about online chat for RB (360 or PS3), which seems kind of ironic, since the missing online chat feature went of to be a big deal for PS3 users.

http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2888

Wow!! I can't believe it's been a year since I joined, time went by so quickly. Btw, I used to go by the name LZ_Reborn until they updated the site in december and I lost my account and had to make a new one.

It's kind of amazing to me how many of these posts from 8-12 months ago, were requests that are still being constantly asked about today. But then again, I guess everyone who first buys RB is a bit naive as to what to expect on these forums.

[cheesy, deep announcer voice]
"In a world where people never learn to use the search function, and constantly make threads thinking that nobody out there has ever requested Nirvana or Led Zeppelin, there are forums in which progress is a word seldom used. There are laughs, there are rants, there are trolls. But at the end of the day, there can only be "The Moderators"! Starring Apples as "The Riddler", HMXHenry as "Mr. Sarcasm", and "HMXSean" as "The President". This summer, you'll get banned! Coming soon, to a theater near you."
