so they don't take up the whole forum.
here is mine:
So i went to best buy last week, played drums, and failed guitar at the start of every song.
I came back yesterday, and me and some guy start playing tom sawyer with me on drums(medium). he fails out once, but when i get him back in, he starts playing it. so i find out i have to strum up. (i can't wait till i can use the real deal and not the crappy demo guitars) so i play bass on epic(hard) and i finally got it the higher buttons took getting used to, but they were fun. My fav part-free form fills. it was really fun on guitar, on drums i had to use a real fill (not just hit every pad i can) so that the guitar player wouldn't lose rhythm.
the mic was unplugged, didn't get to use that though.
overall, it was awesome. i can't wait 9 more days.
please post your best buy/wal-mart experiences here. im looking forward to reading them.

So, I took my friend to the Rego Park, BB a few weeks ago, and the strumbar was busted, but we seriously left there thinking Rock Band is gonna be the greatest game ever. I then went to the Wal-Mart in Farmingdale, where they had RB on display, and the guitar worked perfectly. I had so much fun with every aspect of the game i've experienced, i've even came up with a pretty cool way to do the ending bonus section on a guitar/bass. I gotta say this game is gonna be completely epic and I can safely say it's the most fun i've ever had playing a video game

played at the Best Buy in Pineville, NC. Strum bar on the guitar was shot and only worked if you pulled up on it and the drums had been beat to death, you really had to hit them HARD to get it to register.
I played a brief easy multiplayer on Wanted Dead or Alive with one of the employees who was on break (I was on guitar and he was on drums) and had fun.
After playing this I now have a fully paid preorder at a local Gamestop for a PS3 bundle and am just waiting until i can get this home and jam out with my friends.
I did notice that there is a slight audio delay but it is a demo and i guess that is to be expected. I hit the button and heard the audio respond about a 1/2 second later.

I can get in about 6 songs before the ps3 overheats and shuts off, you would think they would have designed that enclosure a little better

go left when you enter Wal-Mart, no further instructions, it's in the front aisle, all the way at the other end of the store.

naa, it's usually dead there
I played it for 4 hours Friday, and switched off with Beihana and Sophrosyne, from the boards and a couple of my friends for about 2 hours last night, till close. And i've been going every day after school (I go to SUNY Farmingdale) for a good hour.

I went to best buy today and played rock band. Let me first start by saying wow! This game is soo awesome. It is way better than i expected and way better thean guitar hero. All the instruments worked perfectly at my best buy store.
Multiplayer quickplay-I loved everything about being together playing this game.
Single player-Still as awesome as multiplayer was
Drums-When i first started playing i went on medium then worked my way up to hard. I was kinda disappointed by the drum size when i got there but it all worked out great and still loved the drums. This is deffinately the best thing to play in rock band for any mode. Overall the drums are way awesome and the best for avideo game
Guitar-I aonly playedguitar twice and i thought the guitar was way better than guitar hero 3's is. Although it was like damaged from other people it worked great. I didnt think it was going to be as hard as i though but once i put it on expert i was like wow. The solo buttons are great and so are the regular ones. The strum bar is probably the most different for me. It doesnt make the clicking sound anymore and is more smooth. The switches i didnt use that much because i couldnt tell the difference between if they were on or off. Overall the guitar is awesome
Mic-Didnt see anyone use it because the thought they would get laughed it. But it looked pretty neat
The game-I gave the game an A+! Good job harmonix the best game i have ever played!

It was so awesome wasn't it!! It was cool when people gathered around and watched us play ^_^ You're a great drummer man! It took me a little while to get used to the strum bar though. You have to really just gently tap the bar and not hold it down when there's a long chord. We definitely gotta meet up again and chill :)
Our band is going to rock \m/

thanks, but once that bass pedal is introduced, i'm gonna get my ass kicked, at least on expert....
oh yes, our band's gonna kick some serious behind!
oh, and my gamertag is CKY517, since we decided that would be too tough to remember last night,

When did we decide that? I was probably playing and too zoned in to RB lol ^_^ My gamertag is the same as my username :) When are you planning to go back again? I can only go when Beihana (Miguel), takes me b/c it's wayyyy too far from where I am :(

Fair Lakes, VA.
The Sound: A+
The story had no problem pumping the HDTV's speakers. The songs could be heard in a large portion of the store. Jamming on "Main Offender" was simply fantastic.
The Lag: D-
The av lag made the drums practically unplayable. I tried three or four different presents. None seemed to fix the problem. Manual Calibration was unavailable.
The Guitar: C-
When the strum bar ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. And the strum bar was busted. On the flip side, I love the look and feel of the new Strat.
Drums: ??
They were in working condition, but the lag was so bad they couldn't be played. I thought it might just be me, but a dude -- who had clearly logged some Rock Band hours -- had the same exact problem. The drum hits were also loud ... need to wrap those sticks in little socks or something.
The Mic: Present
Really, if you have the balls to sing In Bloom in front of the crowded Best Buy checkout area, more power to you. Me, not so much.
Overall, the Fair Lakes demo is shoddy ... and yet, for those few minutes where I upstrummed to The Hives, I felt like an all-star.

haha...power to me!
I was so glad when I found a store near me ( after checking 2 others ) that ha d a mic so I could try it.
I gotta tell you, it's really fun. it's challenging because you have to match the pitch, hold the notes correctly, etc. You can't just "wing" it. I can't wait to get people drinking and playing the game at my place....it's gonna be like a karaoke bar lol

My local Best Buy has now Rock Band setup. So this was going to be my third time playing Rock Band and guess what?? A whole family, Dad, brother and 2 sons took ownership of the game..!!! They grabbed some chairs and one of them even did the singing!!!! At the moment I just went somewhere else in the store and forget about it. So an hour later after I was done with my shopping and we came back from a different store those SOBs where still there... These people really need to get their preorder and wait for the game to come out at home.!!!

Well, I went to Wal-Mart in Farmingdale today to play Rock Band.
It was AWESOME!
The guitar was worked in though, which caused it to not work properly but the drums were still in excellent condition. It was annoying because I would strum a note and then it would strum again by itself, so I would almost fail out for most of the song.....
Does anyone know why it was doing this?
Also, sometimes the guitar wouldn't work at all, but it was because the wires were messed up. I had to push the wire in more into the guitar and then it would work.
I liked the buttons and fills and everything, but I have to get used to it. I was still pulling 90% on hard, but I would've done a lot better if the guitar was working properly. Just the invisible strumming and wire issues were annoying, but I still had a lot of fun with the game and the song selection was awesome.
Oh and I'm sure the lag on the HDTV added to the strumming problem...I was hitting the strum bar hard, so I know it wasn't unresponsive.
Can't wait until Tuesday! :)
