What is the character limit for band names?

The limit is at least 26 characters.
This is enough space for my band, Threat Level Midnight

Well, judging from the picture link, I would think it's past 26 characters....

I mean, there's a band there called "Hedgehog Stegopunkaceratops". Including the space, that's 27 characters.....

...why you'd want to spell that out every time you're asked what your band name is, I have no clue....

I have to agree with you on that note. I really disliked spelling my entire band name in GH2 that I just used initials instead. I hope this isn't the case for Rock Band.

I would prefer having the option to have the option to Save as Preset Band Name where you select Band Names from the list that you have of Band Names created from Solo or World Band Mode or any mode for that matter.
