Hi!

Just read an interview with Alex Rigopulos on a german gaming website. There he says why Rockband was delayed in Europe. He claimed that not the production of the controllers is the reason for the Europe delay, but the inclusion of localized content.

He confirms that there will be at least FIVE (!!) different versions of Rockband in Europe, all with localized content. (German songs for Germany, Italian songs for Italy etc.) The DLC will be different as well. (****!)

He also confirmed "Die Toten Hosen" being in the german version of the game.

Argh, that sucks, since the Toten Hosen suck. I have enough of them, there is also a "Toten Hosen Singstar Edition" and they have a song in"Guitar Hero III"...

Man, please include Kettcar, Die Ärzte or Wir Sind Helden but not anymore Toten Hosen.

What really angers and fears me is, that we'll probablly really get totally different (downloadable) content, with german bands that probably suck. I swear.... if I'm going to get Tokio Hotel instead of Radiohead... I smash at least one guitar controller.

Oh, there's the link:

Thanks Bizkit, for the info!

Pssst. Let you in on a little secret. Radiohead is European. They're probably going to be available, just as all other popular DLC will be.

Also, regardless of what the issues are with localization, there is a peripheral shortage. Not enough for the US, none for Canada. The peripherals alone would have prevented a day and date release in Europe.

I know that Radiohead are European, but they sing in english! I have the fear the may be replaced with crappy german singing bands.

Oh, and yeah, I also think that the peripheral shortage is the real reason, but I just told you what Alex said. And he said, it's not because of the shortage it's because of the new content.

I really don't think there's any reason to worry. When they first mentioned localized content a few months ago, there was some hysteria that main setlist tracks were going to be replaced with Enya and whatnot. Alex made it clear that all main setlist tracks are going to be available in the European release, although the unlockables might get shuffled a bit.

From everything Harmonix has said, I am sure they are committed to making the popular content available in Europe/Australia.

But if the Canucks keep whining, I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull the Rolling Stones from Canada. ;)

I'm ok with that.

the only difference between DLC will prob be bonus song-esque bands. In the US i'm sure we'll get some indie bands. But the main stuff (the stuff announced so far) I don't see why it wouldn't be released for every region.

I just hope it won't be out any later than mid-January.

Mid-February is more imaginable. Most of the Onlineshops are listing the Game with that date... - for Europe of course.

Oh crap... and i was thinking that it had everything to do with localization and some sort of hardware production problem (not enough to go around to begin with, and the production ratio being low).

Hmm.. not really sure what to think of this.. all i know is that i really don't care about local songs being implemented into my version.

I know harmonix and EA are doing everything to make this as great as possible, but i think they should have just gone with the easier formula... perhaps they should have just released the game worldwide simultaniously, instead of dividing it like this for a few local songs to be added for each country... i mean two or three more months of waiting just for that is not worth it, in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm okay with getting some exklusive german songs as DLC, but I don't want to miss Timmy! on the disc!

Oh, and if Denmark gets Mew on their version, I will definitely try to get the danish version too! - But they should better just release it as DLC everywhere. ><
