I have a question to the pet owners of the Rock Band forums.
I have a one year old Puggle (Pug/Beagle) named Winston, and he has fleas. There is not a lot of fleas as far as I can see, but he still has them none the less. The Vet said that the fleas in my area are terrible this year because of the amount of rain we have had.
I am wondering if anyone knows any home remedies for getting rid of fleas. We have tried Advantage and that didn't work.

When my dog was younger, I'd take him and rub his back while searching for fleas, it helps if the fur is a lighter color, I believe. Also, try those flea collars, they worked pretty well for my dog.

He is very light brown and short/medium haired, so they are easy to spot and remove, but I just want to get rid of them.

we dont have a dog, but our cats have had fleas before.
thing is you cant just treat the animal. the fleas get into the carpet and breed there as well. what worked for us was flea drops on the cats every month, and using flea powder on the carpet, vaccuming every other day. carpet, pet beds...everything.
verrrry time consuming.
also heat kills the eggs - so if you can turn your heat up to 90+ and leave the house for a few hours, that will help.

If heat works, boil the dog ! :)
Joke aside, fleas are a real problem. Our dog had lots of 'em as a pup, and was also allergic to flea collars for some added fun.
The only solution we found was bathing and washing her thoroughly then combing her all over with a fine comb (the finest kind you use on kids with headlice, you can get them in most pharmacies I believe) to get rid of the eggs. All of this every day, twice a day, for a week.
I didn't know about the carpet thing though - back then she wasn't allowed to go upstairs and the ground floor was all tiling.

advantage works but you have to give it time, it doesnt kill adult fleas it just makes them unable to reproduce. So any existing fleas will not be harmed.
also they say feeding garlic oil ( a few drops in their food) a day supposedly helps with fleas. . although your dog will have major dragon breath.

The garlic stuff typically works really well. And it's hilarious because the fleas would rather starve and die than be around your smelly dog.
