"Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night! "- Truman :)
This is an update to the previous thread setup by Stephpa10, for all you thread hounds here you go: http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60263
Now onto the meat....
We have now got our little group up and running, and we're looking for fellow rockers to add to the club. So I decided to re-up the post in here to help with the search. Here's what we're about, said as plainly as possible.
" The mission of RB30+Club is to perform the songs of RockBand in a manner true to their original style and form, evoking the sound and spirit of those songs. We do this all while having a FUN time with like-minded ADULTS playing not for the points and competition, but for enjoyment, for comradery, and for a few more drinking buddies.
The many members of The RB30+Club are seasoned gamers, who have been playing games from ColecoVision up to the Xbox360. We play a wide range of instruments and songs (but DLC's are not required, that's a ton of $$$), sharing a love for the music of Rock Band and the FUN that comes with playing together. WE FORMED THIS GROUP FOR THE SHEER ENJOYMENT OF PLAYING THE GAME. By sharing our opinions about all the well-loved favorite songs, as well as tips and advice on instruments, we showcase an astounding breadth and depth of intelligence concerning Rock Band’s music and gameplay.
In closing, The RB30+Club is a SOCIAL GROUP...We NEVER cared about scores, probably NEVER will. We ROCK, we sometimes EPIC FAIL, we get our "liquid courage", and then ROCK SOME MORE!!"
Hope that's clear enough :p. If this is something that's piqued your interest lemme know here. We'll get together and jam a few to see if everyone's cool and then move on from there. :D just remember this is for the old fogey's :rolleyes: around w/ our arthritis and kids and such :D
Thanks for stopping by, Have fun and Rock On.

Hmm...this sounds a lot like a community I'm part of called Geezer Gamers. My hubby and I are some of the youngest members, but we seem to fit in in groups like this far better than with people our age for the most part. I'm 24 next month and he's 26 the month after that. ;) If you would have me, I'd love to play with you guys sometime. For me, it's all about laughing and having fun. If you don't do that, what's the point? :)

I'm mid-30s and plan to play til I'm well beyond old!
Singing is my best (hard/exp), but I can do guitar (med/hard) and bass (med-exp). I suck at drums, but I can't play them right now anyway, as my son snapped the kick pedal in half. My GT is same as above if you have need of me!

Thought I'd pop in and say pick me pick me! And the hubby too I suppose. He's always following me everywhere! We've been gamers since the beginning of time (or maybe we feel that way cause we're getting older!), and would love to find like minded people to play Rock Band with, not the little punks you usually encounter online!
I play the guitar/bass, he plays the drums. We've been generally super lazy and haven't moved from medium, but we know we can do hard, with not too many mistakes. We've only been playing a couple months (excuses excuses), but we've finally sat down and realized that Rock Band is pretty much the only fun thing out there right now. I hope we can play in the reindeer games! We love meeting new people!
My gt: Mistress N00b (those are zeros, yes)
His gt: Chief N00b (more zeros, woot!)
We're on pretty much every day, off and on during the day, and steady from about 7 central - one of us passes out or loses feeling in the extremities. Hope to hear from ya!
*edit* I started vocals today, just to see how it is. I am actually enjoying it, so we can come armed with guitar/bass, drums or vocals.
Also, wanted to add that in no way do we [I]need[I] to play together at all times. There are times where I get tired, and enjoy watching him play online with people, and vice versa. So we don't have to be a package deal at all times!

Nice to see 30+'s playing Rockband :)
My Blokie and I are in our thirties and on Rockband nearly every night.
My GT is SSpooki, i can only do the vocals ( I did try guitar but got kinda confused!)
His GT is WL Stoner and he plays drums
Please feel free to add us as we would love to be in the RB30+Club :)

It's interesting to even have a thread like this treated as an exception to the norm...an outlier. Fact is, many studies like the July 2008 survey by the ESA confirm the average gamer age is 35. The gamer stereotype persists even among us gamers. Truly, WE are the norm ... not Halo-kiddie. More facts from the ESA study:
* One out of four gamers are over age 50;
* The average game player is 35 years old;
* Women Comprise 40 Percent of U.S. Gamers;
* Women age 18 or older represent a significantly greater portion of the game-playing population (33 percent) than boys age 17 or younger (18 percent);

Me and my wife are in our 30's.
She use to be decent at guitar in GH but now all she does is sing in RB(Medium/Some Hard)
I can play Guitar/Bass on Hard and some Expert. Expert can get ugly though...
I like to play the drums as well but only at medium level right now.

Would defiantly be interested in joining the club. Also anyone that likes to play just to have fun please send a friend request.

It's good to see "old geezers" still rocking in the free world. I am 31 and I have 103 DLC songs as of today. I have already pre-ordered RB2 and would love to jam with people on the same wave length as me. I do leg kicks in my living room while playing and have fallen over my couch a few times doing said move. (I blame the booze). Any one can add me if they want. Send me a message letting me know you found me on this thread. Info is below.

Cheers for the heads up Oldaddy. For the people who didn't read my post. I'm a disabled gamer (Arthritis everywhere, including jaw) Had numerous joint replacements. I'm 31 And been gaming since i can remember on my brothers 2600. These days its play when i'm well enough. My wife is pretty niffty singing, but very shy. lol. I'd love some friends requests for all you guys. To have some fun jamming and have some people understand that maybe after even 4 songs or so i have to stop because of pain would be great. I'll try n get some pics up for you to see my crazy way of playing my guitar lol. When your crippled its not so easy to play comfy. Cheers for reading peoples, really look forward to a jam.

For our house, the Wii is in the living room. The Xbox 360 is in the basement projected on a wall size screen. I love it...plus, I don't have to fight the Wii users in the house for me to rock out. They can get their exercise on with Wii Fit, and I can get my groove on with some kick arse rock-n-roll. Send me a friend invite, I will accept.

Oh, and as for the 14 year old joining our club...we aren't here because we love OLD music. We are here because WE are old. :-) I listen to Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, and Chiodos. I couldn't have said it better myself. Soon to be wife, soon to be kid, fighting bad guys overseas (job), and Rock Band is pretty much how my life is going to work for the next year. This club is all about people who love the game but cannot devote 12+ hrs a day to it. Even though we would love to.

I'm already a member but just wanted to say others that it is a cool club even though I haven't played with most of the members. I have played with Oldaddyjoker and he's a cool guy. The beauty of this club is you can simply have fun and if you suck you won't get *****ed at and if you do well you actually get some appreciation.
If anyone wishes to add me to their list then go ahead. My gatmertag is
pimptainment
and I mainly play drums on medium/hard with some songs on expert sprinkled in. I do not mind playing guitar but I'm strictly easy on that right now and easy/medium for bass. Oh and I have around 90-100 DLC songs with most of the big hitters in there.

I'd love to get in on this if you're all still looking for some folks to add.
I'm 31, work more than I should, play more than I should, and sleep less than I should.
But then again, I have more fun when I'm awake, right?
My wife plays at "events" at our place, but otherwise not too much, so I'm normally going at it alone. I play guitar/bass on expert, vocals on expert (although less often, but I have been doing it more lately), and I can squeak by on Hard if drumming. I'm about 1/2 way though the Expert tour on Drums, but that Fall Out Boy song is killing me, and I doubt I'll ever really bother to get past it.
I love music, and I love to play the game. It's fun to see a nice score and some gold stars, but I don't really care. I routinely play with people in the Easy/Medium skill range, and I don't freak out at them or boot them out of the band like I see happen quite often. I just like to mess around and hear the tunes.
Love to hear back from you guys if this is still going on.

All right!! Old people rocking - this is my kinda crowd.
42 here, and been gaming since we had the Pong console in the mid-70s. I'm always trying to get better on RB, but it's all about the fun/vibe for me. I play all instruments (though my RB1 drums are on RMA right now, and I haven't sung vox as much since my gf dominates that in band play - but I can sing a lot of songs quite well).
I have plenty of DLC, too (200 songs total, including original disc).

I had a lot of fun going through the Expert Vocals tour a while back, but then my gf discovered singing was her best part in the band, and she will NOT give it up during any band play. So I need to practice some more. I can sing most everything on Expert without a problem, but prefer to sing on Hard - I can sing a little less like a robot that way.
Hope to rock with some of you folks soon.

I just started singing on medium. Am I supposed sound like I am from the future and I came back to kill the Connors? LOL Plus, I finally was able to get a band together and we unlocked the 58 song setlist on medium. Of course it was at 530 in the morning and we could barely stand let alone see the notes. That was my grand achievement for the weekend. WOOHOO!

I'm interested! 34 with 3 kids, one of which is two monts old, so time is sometimes limited, but I try to play at least once a week. CJHacker00 is my GT as well. Mainly play guitar or bass as needed, but sometimes have buddies over that play drums and my wife hops in with vocals when needed as well.

I play medium flawlessly any instrument/vocal (not bragging, just explaining :) and can do HARD just fine on guitar. Some solos on some of the harder songs might mess me up a little.
I have over 130 DLC songs and have both Rock Band and Rock Band 2

CJ, I just sent you a friend request. I'm in a similar boat. 2 kids, both under 4. Not much time to play, but get on every chance I get.
Rock Band (and soon to be Rock Band 2) is the only game I own for Xbox 360, with no plans on buying anything else....except of course, every DLC that comes out.

I just bought RB 2. The only problem is we have no power in Cincinnati. And my Xbox is in Kansas. I will be playing RB 2 for the first time on Friday. I have read the instruction manual like 6 times already. Stille haven't found anything new in it. LOL See you guys and gals online soon.

Hello everyone,
I am 31 and play as much as possible. How does this work, is someone keeping a list of gamer tags and sending it out? If so, shoot me a copy.
I log in on my sister in law's GT: Suzi Q 1985
Does anyone know if I can make a GT under her Live account? The 360 is permanently at my house anyway.
Oh yeah, almost forgot...
Vocals - I don't
Bass - Expert
Guitar - Hard (Expert on about half the songs)
Drums - Hard (Expert on about 3/4 the songs)

Sorry if I haven't been on to jam lately but it is kind of hard to do from Kuwait. They haven't really caught on to this new broadband internet thing yet.
