If you have the possibility to use an ethernet cable, why should you buy an adapter?

Ethernet cable. I have a lot more than 50 ft. of cable running through my house but it's going through the walls.

I had the same problem: my router is downstairs and my xbox is in my bedroom(nothing like fragging in bed). I just got a belkin ethernet range extender of buy.com for like 30 bucks with shipping. It's awesome. AND it hits all the nooks and crannies of my house...

if you have a wireless laptop, you can use that to bridge the connection (you just need a crossover cable.) you can learn how here (http://bimmergeek.blogspot.com/2006/05/configuring-network-bridge-for-xbox.html)

Well, I easily have the most wireless items in my room than anyone else in my house. Currently, I have the 360's Wireless Network Adaptor. Its ok, but it is overpriced. It works just fine, and my router is a good bit away. I would recommend getting the original Xbox Gaming Adapter if you can find it cheap. That thing was awesome.
