rock band guitar effects switch on GH guitars?

I just recently played Rock Band at one of the tour locations. One question, if I play RB with the Guitar Hero guitars, will I be able to switch the different effect?
and, if anyone know, how is the end bonus "improv" part thing scored? the part where we can play whatever we want. Thanks.

You need the Rock Band Stratocaster for the effects. And the improv part has a max limit on the amount of points you can get. After the freeform bit there are a few closing notes to the song, if you hit these you'll get the bonus, if you miss any of them you get no end-song bonus.

They said GH guitars will not play effects. Oh well (honestly, there aren't any buttons to do so, unless they use the directional pad maybe?).

I dont think you could change the effects w/ the GH guitar sense it doesnt have a pick-up switch (the thing they use on the game to change effects)...My friend has the les paul and when he comes over whoever is going to use his guitar is going to be bass:p ..

But bout the freeform....Throught the song there are these little fills that, if you hit the green button at the end, you can activate overdrive(i think)....And at the end you can go crazy trying to increase your score but right after that you got about 5 or 6 notes of the reg song that YOU HAVE TO HIT in order to get the points....If not you flailed your arms off for no good reason

I always thought that was a good idea but then you're still short a button.
