View Full Version : GH1 Gibson SG works on RB?

Hi all.

Thanks for reading my post in first place.

I'm getting Rock Band Bundle for PS2, and i'm wondering if my GH1 Gibson SG will work on it ????

I'm thnking to use it as a bass guitar, but i dont know if its going to be compatible, any informatin would be appreciated, thanks! :rolleyes: :)

HMX have said that any third party controller will work as long as it uses standards that other controllers use, I believe the GH SG does so you should have no problems as long as your using it on the PS2, they don't work on a PS3.

Harmonix is being awesome in this situation. It's Actision/Red Octane who are being monopolistic, unfortunately. Then again, hardware is Red Octane's main business.

umm...actually the controllers will work on the ps3. For rockband, IDK, but the sg works on PS3 with a ps2 to usb converter. Well, some converters work, most don't....

Correct, but a number of companies make PS2-to-USN controller adapters. I have used one for a good 6 months to play GH mods on my PC, and can use it to play GHI on my PS3 just fine.

Doesn't work for GHII though =\

I don't think any of the PS2-to-USB adapters work flawlessly on PS3. If I recall, for GH2 there was at least something that wasn't right. Either the tilt function(which doesn't really matter), the whammy, or HO/PO's. Not sure which, but if there's one that works perfectly I'll need to get it to use it for my Rock Band bass.
