Yeah. For the free-form fill sections, as well as before the song begins, I've heard that you can hear yourself playing.

What worries me, however, is that the drums have this 80's electric drumset sound. For anyone who has played the game already, what do the drums sound like? Are they pretty dynamic, or are they what I've feared?

They probably sound different song-to-song?

Fear not. Yeah the free form sections may sound "80's electric" to a point but the music in the songs sound as they should.

They're definitely not Miami Vice, but I don't feel like I'm in the studio either. I think it's an acceptable sampled drumset.

Agreed. It's sampled drum hit, not electric hits. When you're rocking out that hard, it isn't really noticeable.

hah, thanks guys. The Miami Vice comparison made me smile. I was thinking more along the lines of Fine Young Cannibals (which if they sounded like that, then I would just die), but lets hope it's neither.

Yup, agreed... the sound during free-forms was the same in the couple songs I played in the demo. They don't suck, but they don't necessarily match the tone from the song.. but it is definately cool to have a little creativity supported. I think this and the "end wankery" bits in songs will seriously improve the feeling of playing a live gig... now two performances would be the same, etc..etc.. definately a stroke of genius to add for their goal of feeling like you're playing in a band... as it is, essentially, a band simulator and not so much (anymore) a glorified simon-says.

There's not a set of drum hit samples per song? Instead there's a global set? That could really hurt a DLC song's ability to have like, a gong instead of a bass during a fill or something.

We all know gongs are for ending a song :D
