View Full Version : Bands that kids would want to play!

I think they should go more out with the music like they have mainstream music I want something like screamo stuff. Here are some examples:
The Devil Wears Prada
Bring Me The Horizon
Alesana
Fall of Troy
BlessTheFall
Metro Station(They arnt hardcore or anything but are a new style of music)
Greeley Estates
A Skylit Drive
Escape The Fate
The Used
AFI
Slipknot(Maybe Try to put the new stuff in it)
Senses Fail
Chiodos
UnderOath
Secrets Kept In Suicide
Saosin
As I Lay Dying
Angels and Airwaves(Because They are soothing and everyone would like them)
and
H.I.M.
I think if they could get atleast two or three of these more of the kids would totally play the Game.

Theres only 2 good bands(senses fail,AVA),thats it the rest suck
XxBlessTheFallxX
08-23-2008, 11:57 AM
Well atleast it would be a good change for kids who do listen to it.
And it would be something new for them to do.
I think they should try it atleast.

u dont know kids very well then
alot of people from 14 - 17 are into punk and ska
and alot are also into indie stuff like modest mouse, franz ferdinand and artic monkeys

08-23-2008, 12:15 PM
Ummm, not sure where you got the idea that "kids" don't play this game. The median age on this forum can't be more than 15.
And I'd rather not see any of those bands on Rock Band.

You realize more kids these days are turning to older music since we're getting a ton of generic stuff in the mainstream.

Ok Im just saying why not try a couple of those bands.
And Im 14 ok so I do know what most kids listen too.

Teenagers don't just listen to one particular type of music.
However, for the sake of variety, I wouldn't really mind if these bands were DLC.
IfishIII
08-23-2008, 12:24 PM
Hmm. I'm not sure what kids you're talking about.
But why should a game rated T for teen aim so many of it's songs towards kids?
And even if they did, at least make them from better artists than those ones, so the older players don't have to deal with it. heh.
I'd be fine with AVA, AFI, and maybe one song from Metro Station/Fall of Troy...but not for the same reasons as you.
Metro Station isn't really a new type of music. Lots of people (and most younger kids) just haven't heard it before. I wouldn't call Angels & Airwaves "soothing" necessarily and I definitly wouldn't say that "everyone would like them" about any band...
Kurdt10
08-23-2008, 12:24 PM
The Used would be nice if its one of their heavier/older songs like "Box of Sharp Objects" the rest i can go without.
XxBlessTheFallxX
08-23-2008, 12:31 PM
I guess most people wouldn' want to hear it but I think its like the new thing coming up and you can disagree with me I would just wan to see atleat five of these bands on the new game.
Mostly Bring Me The Horizon they are ultimate for the game they have fast drum beats, awsome solos in some songs with great riffs, vocals would be fairly hard to do.
Thats all I think.

I actually would like some Devil Wears Prada and the Fall of Troy. Though I really don't meet many people who listen to The Fall of Troy around school, so I wouldn't call them "mainstream".

...was I the only one who expected this topic was going to be aiming more at like High School Musical/RadioDisney/etc from the name?
The irony is the only people I know who listen to most of those bands are dissatisfied twenty-somethings. Most of the teens I work with have tastes that go much different ways.

Sadly enough I agree with you. (I read you other thread saying Harmonix is dumb cause they do not have enough of your favorite genre)
Most teens are into Indie, Alt, Punk, and Ska. Personally I like Classic Rock, The Blues, Alt, and Indie (weird eh?) but a lot of younger kids aged like 10 -13 are into scremo and death metal etc.
I know at least 50% of the tweens "11-14" are into said genres and 50% 15-17 are into Alt and Indie.
Of course only like 1.3% of teens like Classic Rock and 0.4 Percent like the Blues but w\e.
All percents were pulled outta my ass. But based on the people that I know.

Sure. Why not? We haven't had any screamo/post-hardcore DLC yet. Regardless of how you feel about the genre (I'm neutral on it, myself), it's still a missing rock sub-genre that deserves a spot in Rock Band.

ndie rock is an umbrella term to reference rock artists that are or were unsigned, or have signed to independent record labels, rather than major record labels. Originally the term was not a reference to a specific genre of rock music; however, it has come to be used often to reference the sound of particular bands and the bands they have influenced. "Indie rock" is used as an umbrella term covering a wide range of artists and styles close to rock music, connected by some degree of allegiance to the values of underground culture and counterculture. Genres or subgenres often associated with indie rock include lo-fi, post-rock, sadcore, C86, and math rock, to list but a few; other related (and sometimes overlapping) categories include shoegazing and indie pop.
Stolen Straight from wikipedia. The brain of the internet. Google is your friend my son. And alot of indie music can be found online for free.

By that logic, you shouldn't own a live CD made before you were born.
Lets say I'm wearing a "Live at Leeds" shirt. No, I didn't go to that concert... but it's one of the most historical concerts of all time.

I had to suffer through The Fall of Troy as an opening act for Coheed and Cambria. In the middle of their third song I think, the guy's guitar string broke, so they smashed it on the ground and the guy just started screaming pre-pubescent girl noises into the mic, after which they stormed offstage. So I'd say no to all of those bands (except maybe AFI), unless they could simulate my aforementioned experience.

anyways, what ive been seeing here makes me belive alottttt of schools listen to different music in different school. I happen to live in a really ghetto school, so its about 50% rap. Everyone else whos white listens to nu-metal and hard rock like 3 days grace, linkin park, and slipknot. everyone also likes avenged sevenfold(well, who doesnt?) but there are a couple of "scene kids" who listen to screamo, i do too but im not "scene." anyways, harmonix SHOULD add this stuff for variety, and to make people like me happy(: I think rock band definately needs a day to remember, my favorite

But, I'm not close minded enough to confine myself just to those. I listen to a lot of older stuff (I'm really into stuff from the 80's and even some 70's stuff), and a lot of stuff different from what's listed. >.>

This is the worst idea I've ever heard. I would hate to see kids down the street listening to this god awful noise.
so you think its a bad idea to have a band you want on rock band? hhhmmmm, than i guess you think every thread requesting a band/genre is a bad idea?
Ok i won't insult you, because your right, only your opinion matters, everybody should like what you like, everybody should stop expressing their musical opinions and listen to the classics, because they're the only good kind of music, right? dont get me wrong, i like clasic rock just as much as anyone else, but its douchebags like you who have to have things their way only, not some elses. what has music come to today? all it is is people telling other people what sucks and what doesn't. but then again, they're probably right, it does suck, everything sucks but what you listen to, right?

What the **** happened to kids, go listen to Metallica or something, not that crap you listed in the OP.
I ONLY LIIKE MUSICS I CAN SCREAM TO and etc
funny thing is i did, and i didnt care for it at all.
why do people think only what they listen to is good? if you ask me, kids who listen to only older rock post some of the cruelest, yet dumbest comments
