Rock Band TV commercial

Today I saw my first ever Rock Band commercial on television. Has anyone else seen the commercial?

ESPN. It was the Highway Star commercial.

I just saw it too :) I was sitting in the living room-esque portion of my college's cafe building and it came on the big TV.

Yeah, I saw it while I was at work. I was a little upset to see they edited down the Highway Star trailer, I would have loved to see the whole thing.

Yeah, ESPN and ESPN HD broadcast the same commercials at the same time. But unfortunately i wasn't home so I had to see it in standard definition at work.

I've been on the road almost non-stop for a week, so I haven't hardly seen any TV. Good to see that they're getting some airtime.

I just saw it. I'm watching Mythbusters on the Discovery Channel HD. It looked great on my 32" HD!

Unfortunately it's only the beginning of the Highway Star trailer, and skips from being on the car to them jumping on the tour bus and riding off. It fades out and it shows the Rock Band logo, Harmonix, MTV, etc.

Then it just says "Start your own band" or something like that. I don't even think there was talking in it other than "Rated T for Teen".

Nothing spectacular, it doesn't show gameplay or anything, but I guess it gets people's attention.

I caught it on G4 last night and was surprised that the commercial didn't show any gameplay. Then again, the Guitar Hero commercials didn't either, right?

they at least need to show an xbox and a tv to let people know its a videogame. The 360 logo at the end isnt gonna cut it.

No they don't. Lots of video games don't show a TV and a console. They'll see the 360 and PS logos on the commercial and they'll go and look it up online if it peaks their curiosity. If they don't know it's a video game by the 360, Live, and PS logos then they aren't going to buy the product anyway.

I agree, if someone is interested in video games anyway, they would notice those logos.
Now, to someone who doesn't know anything about video games, consoles, or anything, then I would understand they won't get it. They'll find out through word of mouth, and once Rock Band has it's own news stories too!

It really is some great animation and everything though. Someone sees that and they'll definitely wonder what the hell it is :)

Same.. I used to barely watch TV.. but I now make sure I watch Chuck, Cavemen, Metalocalypse, Reaper, and South Park every week.
