Hey there. For my first post, I would like to recommend some songs from a variety of artists for Rock Band. I've bolded my favorites. These are the ones that I believe should absolutely make it if Harmonix is looking to add these artists.

I'm just going to mention this at the top in case you can't make it all the way down to the bottom: The number one song I'm pushing the most would be The Killers - "Midnight Show". I feel Rock Band needs more Killers content and this would be the perfect song for Rock Band. Good tempo, great bass line, great drums, great vocals, and it actually has a good guitar part. For more explanation on that, scroll down.

So, here is THE LIST

-3 Doors Down

"Kryptonite": Can't suggest 3 Doors Down without this song. Vocals are my favorite.

"Here Without You"

"Train"

"It's Not My Time": Like how the song shifts in the beginning.

-AC/DC Hope I won't have to explain many of these songs. :)

"It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock 'N' Roll)"

"T.N.T."

"Bad Boy Boogie": Love the intro.

"Problem Child": Only problem is the "f word" at the very beginning.

"Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be": Great guitar.

"Whole Lotta Rosie": Guitar a little repetitive.

"Highway To Hell": Built-in "big rock section" at the end.

"Girls Got Rhythm": Great beat.

"Touch Too Much": Might be a bit too explicit, but otherwise fun for vocals.

"Shot Down In Flames"

"Back In Black" (full album)

"For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)"

"I Put The Finger On You"

"Let's Get It Up"

"Flick Of The Switch" (full album)

"Thunderstruck": Intro could possibly be all Hammer on's and pull off's, as it would give both options for HO/PO's and strumming. The music video shows it as the former, but live performances seem to be strumming with the pick.

"Moneytalks"

"Rock Your Heart Out"

"Stiff Upper Lip"

-Airbourne - Runnin' Wild (full album): You just can't go wrong with straight, no BS rock 'n' roll. Specifically "Stand Up For Rock 'N' Roll" (great intro, love the chorus, awesome solo), "Diamond In The Rough" (extremely fun for drums), "Fat City," "Girls In Black," and "Heartbreaker."

-Alien Ant Farm

"1000 Days"

"Glow": Very fun beat, guitar and vocals stand out.

"Crickets": Favorite song from Alien Ant Farm, love the lyrics and the guitar.

-Avenged Sevenfold

"Bat Country": We all probably know how intense the Avenged Sevenfold DLC was, so expect more of that from here. Mix of tough vocals, plus insane drumming during the verses, and a SICK guitar solo.

-Bachman-Turner Overdrive With Rush on Rock Band, why not another Canadian band?

"Blue Collar": Slow, steady, features a nice guitar solo at the end.

"Let It Ride": Classic.

Takin' Care Of Business": Another classic.

"You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet": Stuttering vocals sound fun.

"Blue Moanin'"

"Down To The Line"

"Heartaches"

-Bon Jovi

"You Give Love A Bad Name"

-Breaking Benjamin

"Home": It's about the Wizard Of Oz. What more do you need? And as such, lyrics are fun.

"Forever": The "bonus" song attached to the end of "Shallow Bay," it's soft for most of the song, until it crescendos at the end. Great lyrics.

"So Cold": Solid song on all instruments, fun to sing, great guitar moment at the end.

"Forget It": Very soft song, great vocals, again, fun for the band. Vocals may have a tough time.

"Sooner Or Later": Again, great vocals, some good guitar.

"The Diary Of Jane": Great for everyone. Guitar, bass, drums, vocals, all excellent. Solid song.

"Breath"

"Dance With The Devil": Underrated song

"Unknown Soldier": Love the guitar intro, and what a surprise, more great vocals.

"You Fight Me": Might be tough for vocals, but good otherwise. Underrated song.

-The Clash

"Garageland": My favorite from their debut album, good lyrics and guitar.

"London Calling"

"Rock The Casbah": Fun lyrics and bass line.

-Derek And The Dominoes

"Layla": Classic, only problem is that the vocals don't do anything for the last half of the song.

-Disturbed

"I'm Alive": Excellent lyrics, guitar.

"Stricken": Tough guitar solo, was in Guitar Hero III, loved singing along with it. Classic "Wah-ah-ah-ah!"

"Overburdened": Great bass.

"Sacred Lie": Guitar.

-Finger Eleven

"Paralyzer": Guitar, lyrics, great melody. Only problem would be censoring the "s word" at the beginning.

"I'll Keep Your Memory Vague": Guitar, lyrics.

"Window Song": Guitar, lyrics (see a pattern?).

"Change The World": Amazing lyrics. It starts out slow and soft, but then the chorus comes and it almost completely changes (haha, get it?).

-Foo Fighters Well, since Everlong is already slated for Rock Band 2, guess I'll have to suggest some others.

"I'll Stick Around"

"Big Me": MENTOS! Anyways, very light, fun to sing along and play guitar.

"Monkey Wrench": Like with Paralyzer, only problem is the "s word." Other than that, high tempo guitar and HOLY F- DRUMS WOW, lots of rolls. Have fun with that drummers. :D

"Hey, Johnny Park!": Love the guitar and vocals, very underrated song.

"My Hero"

"See You": Quieter song, stand out on this is vocals and bass guitar.

"Times Like These"

"Best Of You": Vocals.

"DOA" Fun, fun song. Starts out quiet with vocals and guitar, then gets ramped up with drum intro. Chorus has some great drumming. Steady tempo, would be fun for the entire band.

"Resolve": Lyrics and guitar.

"The Pretender": Drummers would have a great time. The intro alone is worth it. It wasn't so great in Guitar Hero III because it was just strumming for guitar, but it would be so much better for an entire band because of the drums and vocals.

"Long Road To Ruin": Guitar solo is pretty cool, good beat.

"Stranger Things Have Happened": My favorite from this album. The only disappointing part would be the drums. Otherwise, memorable guitar and vocals. Powerful song.

"Cheer Up, Boys (Your Makeup Is Running)": Good, high tempo song.

"Summer's End"

-Guns 'N' Roses

"Nightrain": Nice guitar.

"Think About You": My favorite from the album. Very solid for entire band. Guitar and vocals stand out during the chorus.

"Anything Goes": Guitar has some tricky stuff.

"Knocking On Heaven's Door"

"November Rain"

-Hot Hot Heat Very light, fast tempo, almost "pop" like band. Excellent vocals everywhere. Great for parties.

"Talk To Me, Dance With Me": Great for the entire band. Every one has great parts.

"Jingle Jangle": Starts off quiet, then the vocals crescendo with the guitar and drums. Underrated.

"Pickin' It Up": Short, but sweet. Bass guitar starts with the bass drum for a great intro. Then the guitar melody shows up.

"Island Of The Honest Man": Top notch vocals, punctuating guitar parts. Very good tempo.

"Middle Of Nowhere": Too bad the guitar can't play the piano chart at the beginning. Other than that, great song on vocals. Pre-chorus really highlights the drum part.

-Iron Maiden

"The Prisoner": I'd love to see the intro kept in if possible. "I am not a number, I am a free man!". Great way to lead into the song. Bass part stands out during the pre-chorus, "Run, fight," and, "Now you see me, now you don't."

"Gangland": Head-banging material. Have fun on drums.

"Hallowed Be Thy Name": Only problem is that it's 7:12 long...Oh well. Love the guitar scales during the song.

-The Killers The problem with most Killers songs is that it's mostly synthesizer, so that means the guitar sometimes plays second filddle with straight strumming. However, the other parts, specifically the bass, have extremely stellar charts, so I'll try and cut down on the suggestions that have boring guitar parts. The drums are also very good for The Killers.

"Smile Like You Mean It": Bass guitar has a great time. You could probably make a case for the guitar to play some of the synthesizer parts during the intro and chorus. But seeing as how Harmonix didn't give the guitar the keyboard part during the intro, I doubt it.

"Somebody Told Me": I was originally apprehensive about this since the guitar is just strumming, but I think that put together with the great bass and drums and the vocals that it could work.

"Change Your Mind": Another great bass part. Guitar has a melody that might get repetitive over the course of the song. Just wish it could also have the synthesizer during the chorus.

"Midnight Show": My absolute favorite Killers song. Why? The cool intro, the awesome beat and bass line, an excellent bass part, great drums that could give a challenge, good lyrics, and the guitar is actually pretty good! If any Killers song were to make it on Rock Band, this should be the one. In fact, if ANY song on this list were to make it, this should be it. It is a very solid song for all four parts. This would be the perfect Rock Band song from my list. I'm really pushing this one.

"Read My Mind": Solid on all fronts, guitar is actually pretty good, and it even has a guitar solo! Wowzers. Fun lyrics.

"Bones": Very fun song. Bass and drums stand out, fun lyrics, guitar is passable.

"This River Is Wild": Underrated. The stand out is the vocal part. Guitar is actually quite fine. And, guess what, more great bass and drums. Only problem is the "female dog" word showing up later in the song.

-Mando Diao

"Down In The Past": Weird, but funny lyrics. Like the guitar solo.

"The Wildfire (If It Was True)": Great intro, good bass line, chorus is excellent, especially for vocals.

-The Offspring

"Self Esteem"

"Come Out And Play"

"Staring At The Sun"

"Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)

"The Kids Aren't Alright"

"Walla Walla": Only problem is the "BS" that pops up during the break.

-Papa Roach Why was the second guitar part in "Time Is Running Out" taken out? The song sounds so much more empty without it. That alone stopped me from buying it.

"The World Around You": Fun drum part, love the bass line, vocals and the guitar are good. The bridge with the drum roll is pretty good. The part near the end is pretty cool for vocals.

"No More Secrets": Best part is the vocals.

"The Fire": Favorite from the album, extremely overlooked song. Love the drums, especially bass drum. The intro with the guitar is nicely done. There's a part near the end that could be charted as a solo. Vocals are also solid. Great song for the entire band.

-Pearl Jam Huh, Alive is already slated for RB2. Oh well.

"Jeremy": Only problem is the "f word" in the second verse.

"Love Reign O'er Me": Much more powerful than The Who original, in my opinion. Vocals will have a field day trying to do Eddie Vedder's voice on this.

-Red Hot Chili Peppers Great vocals all around.

"Scar Tissue"

"Otherside": Excellent bass guitar. Just hope the backup vocals during the chorus aren't muted, because they really make it all that much better.

"Get On Top": Fun, high tempo, good beat, catchy. Hope the overlapping vocals aren't muted.

"Californication"

"Easily": Solid song all the way through for all parts, especially vocals. The parts of "The story of a woman on the morning of a war," are especially memorable. Great outro.

"This Velvet Glove": Guitar and bass are good.

-The Rolling Stones

"Paint It Black": It was fun in GHIII, so why not Rock Band, where it would be infinitely more fun with the drums and the great vocals? If the master can't be used, then I'd suggest the punk cover by Gob.

-Shinedown Three words: VERY powerful vocals.

"Simple Man": Personally, I would have preferred the Shinedown cover to the Lynard Skynard classic. Why? As with the Pearl Jam thing above, the vocals are much more powerful. I think this interpretation is better than the original.

"Save Me": Good melody.

"I Dare You": Have fun reaching those high notes vocals.

"Beyond The Sun": Underrated. Good lyrics. Slow melody that picks up during the chorus.

-The Shins Fun lyrics, great to sing.

"Know Your Onion!": There's a part after the second chorus that could possibly be charted for the guitar. Not sure if it's an keyboard.

"New Slang": Like the fade-in crescendo, would like the vocals to sing the intro with the guitar. Only problem would be the drums. It sounds like there's a tambourine during the song, which could possibly be given to the drums, but would be pretty boring.

-The Strokes To really get a good imitation of the singer's voice, try getting stoned beforehand.

"The Modern Age": Good lyrics, good guitar bridge, love how the guitar and drums punctuate the vocals after the bridge during that verse. It's almost like going back and forth between them.

"Someday": Another good song for vocals, good drum intro. Only problem is the guitar is mostly strumming.

"Last Nite": Fun song. Just hope the second guitar part isn't muted. Really like the pause at the end when there's silence for a second, then they start again.

-Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers

"American Girl": Vocals. Oh yeah.

"I Won't Back Down"

"Free Fallin'"

"Don't Do Me Like That"

"Mary Jane's Last Dance"

"Runnin' Down A Dream"

"Into The Great Wide Open"

-U2

"Gloria"

"New Year's Day": Excellent bass part, always liked the guitar, good vocals, just hope the piano would be loud enough to hear, since it's really the focal point of the song. During the outro to Epic, it was really tough to hear the piano outro, so I hope that wouldn't be the case for this song, especially during the solo.

"The Refugee": Great percussion with the vocals. Good combination.

"Two Hearts Beat As One": Great bass and guitar, love the chorus for vocals. Catchy song. Bands will love the tempo. Hope the backup vocals aren't muted during the chorus.

"Bad"

"Where The Streets Have No Name": I've always liked the guitar, even though it's mostly strumming. There's also a prominent bass part. Like the drum rolls.

"I Will Follow": Solid all around, love the drums and guitar.

"Angel Of Harlem": Too bad there's no trumpet peripheral...

-Van Halen Who doesn't want to play like Eddie Van Halen?

"Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love"

"Runnin' With The Devil"

"Dance The Night Away": Vocals might have it tough on the parts where David Lee Roth goes really high. Hope backup vocals aren't muted.

"Unchained"

"Panama"

"Summer Nights"

"Best Of Both Worlds': Always loved the guitar riff here.

"Why Can't This Be Love," "Dreams," "Love Walks In": Only if there's something for the guitar to do for about 60% of the song where it's all synthesizer to tide them over until the guitar solos kick in. "Love Walks In" actually features two.

"Can't Stop Lovin' You": Guitar and vocals.

-Weezer Easy, but fun songs.

"No One Else"

"The World Has Turned And Left Me Here"

"Surf Wax America": Good guitar, drums might be a little tricky.

"Holiday": Like the quiet part for vocals.

"Only In Dreams": Underrated song, the bass part repeats, but it's the stand out in the song. In fact, it starts the song. Little guitar solo near the end. Great lyrics.

-The Who

"Pure And Easy": Catchy, love the chorus.

So, that does it for this list. If you've made it this far, I'd like to congratulate you. I'd also like to hear some comments on the list and any additions you have for any artists listed. Thanks for reading!
