How about imho the best power metal band ever, Lost Horizon! Sadly they only put out one album. lol

Lost Horizon released 2 albums before losing their lead singer and have been searching for a new one ever since. The albums were entitled "Awakening the World", and "A Flame to the Ground Beneath".

I am a huge power metal fanatic, and of all the bands I love, the once Lost Horizon is far and away the cream of the crop! They combine extreme technical skill all around from singing to playing to songwriting with the fanaticism of some sort of strange metal religion.

For a taste of them, I recommed Highlander (The One) and its 12 minutes of multiple movement power metal glory.

Bring on the Lost Horizon DLC in all its crazy tatooed awesomeness!

What is everyone's fascination with Wishmaster? Seems like every other Nightwish fan picks this song (already come up 3 or 4 times in this thread), but it just sounds bland to me. If I were list my 10 favorite Nightwish songs, it wouldn't even come close.

Their CD is about a 1/3 split between Melodic Death, Folk, and Prog.

Wintersun is a truly hard band to genre up. As Ult said, you have Scandanavian death metal, folk metal, and I will even say elements of black and power metal all rolled up into a progressive umbrella.
