As you guys might know, I had the chance to stop in at Harmonix last week. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Everyone there is so cool and laid back. I hung out with John Drake and HMXSean for most of the day.

My first interview was with Josh Randall, who is the Creative Director. He's the guy working on the new community site. It should be launching shortly after the game hits stores. Check it out!

nice going Feigned. It's good to see you putting all of this info to use instead of going "I know something you don't know!"

Nah, I'm not selfish with it, I want to spread the knowledge around! There's actually more still on the way. I just have to make sure that everything I put is HMX-approved. I signed an NDA with them, so I have to be careful about what I post.

how much more could there possibly be to tell

* Where created characters can be used -- online, as fill-ins when soloing, etc.
* Where created band logos can be used (BWT only? What about online?)
* How the solo tour works... is it truly an "evolution" or "same as GH"? (HMX has said both, oddly)

I'm really hoping the NDA doesn't cover that... it's the last piece of the puzzle!

I really hope the community website is active from Day 1 of launch.... that would make everything so worth it.

Break the NDA! (Don't Fear) The Reaper! (Or in this case, the legal system, they're fairly similar).

On a serious note, my new Rock Band Slogan.

It's not the legal system that I fear. It's that I don't think Harmonix will let me back through their doors. If you've seen their community fridge, you would understand why.

Great interview, the community features sound cool, especially if and when we can add our own stuff. :)

I agree about the solo tour, that's the one thing that's of more interest to me as it's the mode i will be playing the most not because i want to but because work and commitments that i and friends have just don't allow for a multi-player setup on a regular basis. I wish Hmx or even a review from a website / mag would say exactly what the solo tour offers as you said the one time it was put to HMX it was worded like it was both which if true would be great.

Can you at least tell us about the fridge, or is that covered in the NDA too? ;)

They have the corpses of the playtesters whom they worked to death in the fridge.

When people refer to Harmonix as their "Mecca," it's because of that fridge.

my prediction of the "fridge"
Jones soda as far as the eye can see.
Snack paks covering every wall with all the colors of brown white and milky white.
Barrels of salsa and a tortilla chip dispenser that rivals the hoover dam!

Then on the side of the fridge on the counter a dump truck of bugles.

Next time you do an interview make sure you know the name/job of the person you're interviewing before you start filming. :) Great info, though!

Respectfully requesting a blog about the HMXFridge.

There was one like 5 months ago, I'll look through the history and see if I can find it.

edit: I found it

I think all the images in the blog have become broken, I remember it being a pretty impressive sight (it was impressive in person as well).

I would ban if I could.

I noticed that before too. I had to hunt around for the images for the old blogs. I'll see what I can find in a few minutes.

I have to put canadian_release_dat on ignore now.

For anyone that wants to do the same:

I don't get why they won't let you ban. People make it pretty obvious on their own when they need a quick boot to the ass out of the forums.

You don't just let some civillian be a full-access moderator on your corporation's forums.

No lunchables?

BTW, the creative director totally justifies the "messy desk = busy person" argument I keep having with my coworkers.
