View Full Version : EA/MTV/HMX should state how much is DLC going to cost before the game is released.

It is kind of unfair to announce some of the future DLC songs but not the pricing. This will certainly influence the decision to purchase the game for many people, (though not the posters of this forum). Of course they could go the guitar hero route and rip-off people after they purchase the game, but I see that as just plain wrong.

Nobody is forcing any consumer to purchase the game at launch. If an individual is really worried about DLC pricing, they can wait for the info.
It would be nice to know their plans though.

I have to figure that is what that last announcement that the "Battle of the Bands" winner gets to announce.
"Who's Next" was confirmed to be released a day or two after the game. So in about a week and half at the most we'll know what the price is regardless of an announcement or not.

Please no more whining threads, we've filled up our quotas for today.
I really want to know the DLC prices too, but I can accept that I'll probably have to wait for seven more days to find out.
If the DLC prices end up so high that you decide the game is not worth it, I 100% guarantee you will be able to take it back or resell it on E-Bay for a tidy profit.

I know how you feel i wanna know too, but not announcing DLC pricing will not change anything in sales, if someone doesn't want to get it at launch then there are plenty of people in line. They sold out at gamestop/ebgames about a week to a week and a half ago, the threat of not buying rockband is nonexistent and affects nothing in the process.

This is twisting the announcement a bit - At E3, "Who's Next" was announced as the first downloadable full album for Rock Band. In that same announcement, we also announced a whole bunch of tracks from Metallica, and since then OXM has announced 24 more downloadable tracks that aren't part of albums.
The order of where these tracks and albums are coming out in relation to each other hasn't been announced - but I'd imagine you'll find out very soon.

Whenever I see you post, I think you are the person in your avatar. If you happen to come in this thread again, and read this, can you tell me who/what that kid is?

I too would like to know what the DLC will cost. However it will not make a difference if I get the game or not. My game is paid for and all I need to do is show up on Midnight next Monday to pick it up. However I do not think the DLC will be as costly as GH. If you remember months ago Harmonix released a thread asking us what we think DLC should cost. I think they took every thing we said into consideration and they do not want to have the complaints that GH had with pricing. Also keep in mind there will be alot of DLC for RB and they know it can not cost a fortune if they want us to continue buying DLC.

They might as well create a sticky-ed thread right now titled "Complain about DLC pricing here" because you know that there is going to be a huge barrage of complaints when DLC pricing turns out to not be as impossibly cheap as the unreasonably optimistic among us think it is.
The more than likely fact is that DLC pricing is going to be very close to GH2/3 pricing, which is fine with me.
