No amount of whining is going to change the Canadian release date, so you all might as well suck it up and deal with it.

There is no doubt in my mind that Harmonix employees would love to personally deliver a copy of Rock Band to every person in the world on Nov. 20th if that was possible. Any delays are caused by necessary work that couldn't be done in time to get it out across North America on the same day. Harmonix is not out to get Canada. Get over it.

At least take it out on some faceless suit at EA who is distributing this game or maybe someone at MTV who may have made the call that filling US orders is more pressing. Or maybe accept the "official" reason for the delay and blame your government for cowtowing to a minority block of citizens. All in all you may have to wait an extra month to get your hands on the game, yeah it sucks, but in this industry delays happen all the time. Go out and enjoy life or something.

There's an age old adage thats appropriate at a time like this.

"Don't shoot the messenger."

Sean is exactly that. He is a community representative. He doesn't make decisions, he can only report results when/if he gets permission to. He didn't personally orchestrate a delay to spite Canada, he's merely the face that gives the apology when the cat is finally out of the bag.

No one is happy about the delay, but steps can be taken. Steps HAVE been taken by some of the more enterprising Canadians that post in this forum.

Myself, I'm a cynic. The second I caught a whiff of this delay, I immediately went into Worst Case Scenario mode, and my timing was ideal; I'm visiting in-laws in the USA during Thanksgiving, so they let me use their address to deliver Rock Band to their doorstep when I go down. True, I don't get to play the game for a few days while I'm there, but I will be able to spend Saturday night rocking out.

My mentioning this isn't to rub it in, it's just to point out that there have been many opportunities (and there STILL are) to get around this if you're sufficiently motivated and willing to take larger hit to the wallet. I have a lot of respect for the people that kept the faith and hoped for the best, but I'm not one of those people and took appropriate measures. Unfortunately, that cynicism paid off in this case. But even people who were hoping right up until the last moment CAN STILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.

I think Canadians are allowed to feel a sense of disappointment about this. It's an eagerly anticipated game, so it's natural to feel bad when you find out it's been delayed. By all means, voice your disappointment, it's a forum, that's what it's for. But singling people out and hating them, even threatening them with violence for decisions they have no control over isn't going to do anything but spread a lot of ill will. Most of the Canadians here are "sucking it up" as it were and just being real troopers, absorbing the bad news and moving on. That's a sensible, mature reaction. But making this personal vendetta against someone who can only talk about the news when he is authorized to shows an incredible lack of respect for other people that might best be addressed in some counseling sessions, because that goes above and beyond a gripe about being disappointed.

Sean is a good guy. He's been here right from the beginning. He's read the threads, he's been supportive, he's been enthusiastic, he's kept fans of Rock Band in the loop on many, MANY things, and has talked with folks here both on the forums and in private messages. He's been genuinely involved in the community, and as you can see from the way he's interacted with forum-ites who've attend events, he actually LIKES the community in a real and genuine way. He's done an excellent job of keeping a group of fans engaged and unified, and to suddenly want to beat him up because of one bad move (from a distributor not even affiliated with his own company, no less) says far more about the critics than it does about the victim of the criticism.

Sean's stood up for us, and really cares about the community. He certainly doesn't deserve this.

Ok, just to get the record straight, I agree with you...people are ridiculously unreasonable about this. But I just had to comment on one thing to be unbiased. (For the record, I have ordered RB from the States, so while I am Canadian, I shouldn't have to wait til Dec...so it's not an issue pertaining directly to me.) Anyways, I just had to comment in a way, this was done...about them stating something, and changing it at the last moment.

When Nov 20th was announced as the release date, it was the North American release, and yes, believe it or not..Canada is in North America. :P So then, about 2 weeks before that date, we're told Canada won't get it for another month. Is that not an example of promising something, getting people's hopes up, and then changing it last moment? Yes it is...but like I said, it doesn't affect me anymore...but it is still unfair.

Telling us to blame our government won't solve anything either. I'm proud to live in a country that has two official languages. It's just strange that the reason for the delay is language on packaging when all companies invloved have dealt with this issue before. It's not like they just found out and went...oh sh!t.
