Considering how many points both teams fielded, 25,000 is a very small margin of win :) Very good end to an interesting competition.

Green Grass and High Tides seems to have been the decider!

Big comeback! 1up was pulling away with it for a while. Grats to those guys.

I look forward to reading their next Rock Band article :D

Wow, way to go Gamespy! I thought 1up had it locked down...

Nice! I have been following the GameSpy guys through the articles they have written after each round. The last one with Fargo's excerpts were pretty damn funny.

Anyways, it is always sweet to see the underdog win. Congrats, NinjaPlease!

Wait... so these scores don't get added to their overall scores from the first 3 rounds??

Either way... those are AMAZING numbers.

Well the site is rather vague. It has the rankings on the side that do keep track of everything, in which 1up still is in the lead. But beside that are the Finals which GS is beating 1up.

The thing is, both teams have talked like this was a winner-takes-all scenario, but I could be wrong, in which case I'll edit the main post and admit I may have jumped the gun a bit.

Yeah good question, because overall 1up still has the highest total including the finals.

Yeah, it's looking to me like 1up is still in the lead overall, though Gamespy won the last round.

Yeah I'll edit up my post if it turns out that 1up actually did win, don't worry guys, I got you semi-covered.

Honestly, though, I could care less who wins, just so long as whoever it is makes with the exclusive info, and quickly! :D

Ok guys I've got some semi-official news in the form of a quote from Sluggo on SH:

I've been told that the finals are basically a standalone match: we don't have to make up a million points, it's whoever gets the highest combined scores on whatever four songs are in the finals.

So it looks like GS did indeed win, no need for an edit.

This is true, but at the beginning not many people thought 1up would do very well, and here they damned near won it.

probably tonight gamespy has been the only site that's been consistently updating their battle of the bands news.

BathTub

Yeah I have enjoyed reading their columns on it, frankly I am surprised other people having been posting their experiences, I kind of thought that was the point.

Sluggo says gamespy will update their BoTB site later tonight, although he doesn't specifically mention making any announcement.

Hopefully they do make an announcement either tonight or tomorrow, I wonder what it could be. I want it to be some new exciting DLC.

if it's even more DLC that'll be amazing, considering they're talking about adding even more throughout the year.

by the sounds of it the announcement will be the pricing and release dates of all upcoming DLC, and maybe even some new tracks.

That's fine by me, with all the DLC titles they've announced, I'm more interested in price and dates for planning purposes... Let them keep additional songs under wraps for more excitement later. :)

Green Grass and High Tides is going to be amazing to play in general. It's like Free Bird but more awesome.
