AHH, I saw on this site, (obviously it might not be reliable) But also on a bunch of others that the Canadian release date has been moved from Nov. 20th to Dec. 17th!? Is this true??? I also heard it was because of a bi-linugal box or something being put into it for French?

Well to be fair the 18 "Rock Band was delayed in Canada" threads were all locked. Except one, I think.

But, yes, it is true.

Well, that's the "official" line but don't believe it. It's a load of horse*$^%.

Harmonix has already been through the English/French thing twice with GH and GH 2....
EA has been through it a gazillion times with the amount of titles they throw out every year...

To think we'd be dumb enough to buy that this time someone from either company somehow forgot to file the paperwork in time after all their previous experience...??

Thanks for insulting our intelligence, guys.

No, the real reason they delayed it in Canada was to make sure they could make as many of the American distributors happy with the amount of units they've produced to this time. Don't let 'em try and tell you any different.

It's a plan that'll bite them in the butt, though.

So, it's easier to take the 30% (for argument's sake) of bundles you'd allotted for Canada and hold them for the USA on launch day.

Yay.

What happens in a month? Y'know, when it's mere days before Christmas and all your distributors come calling for anything that's been manufactured??

Do you tell them "Tough. These (XXXXXXX) units have been promised to Canada."...??

Or do you screw Canada again...???

It'd have been easier from a PR perspective to stick to the plan and just ship what you can to everywhere you can when you can....

It's gonna get ugly for them come the middle of December when the Gamestops and EBs and the like come yammering at them with a "We don't give two &^$%s about Canada. We want those units now!!"

Double Edit: ...I'm not even going to comment, can we just get this locked up?

MTV clearly hasn't been through it enough. I guess that's their job then? Cause Jackass was horribly delayed too.

Edit: Not nearly as bad as I thought, my apologies, but still, damn man, talk about beating the dead horse.

It's only because I'm in the business of selling these things. In Canada.

In three years' time, it'd be the first time I've ever seen either company get screwed up by the "bilingual packaging" thing.
It's not like they don't have prior experience into this business.

It just sounds easier to assuage the pissed-off fanboys with.

Like I said, come mid-December, they're now going to be feeling heat from both sides of the border for all the units produced by then.

So, who gets screwed right before Christmas then?

The game will hit the shelves December 17th. With them not having to worry about Europe, I'm sure a month is enough to appease most of Canada and some of the US need for the game

Take it for what it's worth. Who cares what the problem really is? It is what it is.

It gives people one full week to pick up Rock Band for their little Wayne's and Celine's for Christmas.
