Was just checking out the wiki entry on BSSM in all my full album announcement induced glee and I couldn't help but noticed the B-Sides of this album were some of my favorite RHCP tunes, and some pretty cool covers. I wonder if there's any chance we'll be gettting these along with that album or perhaps as later DLC to top off the collection

4 of the 6 B-sides that you may recognize:

Soul to Squeeze
Sikamikanico
Jimi Hendrix's Castles made of Sand as performed by RHCP
The Stooges' Search and Destroy as performed by RHCP

Should we get these touches of awesome with the rest of the Awsome that is Blood Sugar Sex Magik? I say hells yeah.

Probably won't happen, but it would be great to have Soul to Squeeze.

I was actually listening to Soul to Squeeze last night thinking "Hey, every part of this song would be interesting to play on Rock Band." But I'm gonna have to say that none of those would be included with BSSM.

Not even Soul to Squeeze? It got some pretty heavy airplay and a pretty cool music video when it released off of the soundtrack to the Coneheads movie.

Soul to Squeeze NEEDS to be included. Harmonix would be crazy to not include it.

WWWWaaaaahhhh? Those aren't on disc? Damnit iTunes library!!!!!!!!! Tricked me into thinking these were part of the album!

I've had these songs for a while, always just thought it was part of the album. Gonna miss castles made of sand :(

Don't expect anything except what you would get on the album if you were to purchase it, and don't be angry if that's all you get. Previous album releases have been only the albums themselves and no B-side tracks, that doesn't set a strong precedent for it to happen now.

While I'm thinking that the B-Sides might not make it; the average album does not include the B-Sides of songs.

That being said, at least "Soul to Squeeze" is one song that is worthy of being a part of the album release mainly due to it's popularity and the radio airtime I'm sure it received.

So this could end up being one of the first, if not the first, B-Side track being released.

I too would really like to see Soul to Squeeze come in under Blood Sugar Sex Magik, but it is very unlikely. I'm sure we'll get the 17 Retail Tracks, that you'd expect if you bought the CD from a retail outlet.

EDIT: Sorta Ninja'd by Ultrace! :)

I agree that getting those B-side (especially Soul To Squeeze) would be frigging amazing, but hard to do.

Cross fingers? Can't hurt.

Soul to Squeeze would be so awesome. I doubt it will make, but I'll be very happy if it does.

The album is already going to cost a lot. Personally, I hope they just save those for later DLC.

There are plenty of tracks from BSSM that I'd give up in favor of Soul to Squeeze and Castles Made of Sand.

Even Sir Psycho Sexy, which is one of my favorites. But it's probably gonna be so censored that it won't even be recognizable anyway.

I'm actually thinking that they might only offer the best tracks from this album. I'm definitely a RHCP fan, and even I wouldn't download all 17 tracks.

As far as what I'd like to play in Rock Band, for me it's...

Must haves:
Under the Bridge
Breaking the Girl
I Could Have Lied
Give it Away
Soul to Squeeze
Sir Psycho Sexy (yes, even censored)
Castles Made of Sand

Might take:
The Power of Equality
If You Have to Ask
My Lovely Man
Funky Munks
Mellowship...
Apache Rose Peacock

No Thanks:
The Righteous and the Wicked
The Greeting Song
Blood Sugar Sex Magik
Suck My Kiss
Naked in the Rain
The rest of the B-sides...
They're Red Hot (too short to pay full price for)

yeah soul to squeeze would be great to play. if not with BSSM at least as a separate single. or maybe they can release a RHCP B-side track pack.

I'd be very fine with that. Oh well Guess there's nothing left to do but play the waiting game..... or hope that VH1 or Xbox Live leaks it soon.

Well, considering that Give It Away is already on the RB2 disk, there is the possibility that Soul To Squeeze could put placed on the album list as a replacement. But granted, that's a big if. Here's to hoping.

I don't recognize any of those, sorry.

You post so much and so frequently in the Rock Band forums I would have thought for sure you would have at least heard of Search and Destroy, there was a cover of it in Guitar Hero 2, but these ARE the RB forums so maybe you never played it.

Castles Made of Sand was originally by a guy named Jimi Hendrix, check his stuff out, you'll probably like some of it! After hearing RHCP Higher Ground cover I bet these are good, fun covers.

Possibly have them as a 4 pack B-Sides Album DLC. I can hear the marketing and accounting folks slavering already! =) (I kid, I kid!)

I'm actually kind of embarrased to admit this(being a huge RHCP fan) but while I was watching that you tube video, I noticed John's not in it at all. Was Soul To Squeeze recorded after he left? I know Dave Navarro was with the band for a bit, but John came back before Californication. For some reason, I keep thinking that Dave was playing guitar on that song.

I love the song- it's actually one of my favorites, but Dave couldn't carry John Frusciante's jock if he had a moving truck. (although he was with Carmen Electra, so I guess he's got something going for him) :D

Soul to Squeeze is the one B-Side I hope they include, I mean it's more well known than a couple of the other songs on the album. I doubt it'll get included, but I would love Harmonix long time, if it was.

According to wikipedia it's Fruciante playing guitar on the track but since the video didn't come out till 1993 for the coneheads movie (a year after he quit) they instead opted to put someone who looks like him at the end of the video. (Dude in big black hat sitting on a table)

The album is already gigantour. You're expecting them to add another six songs to that?

Not expecting. Hoping. maybe praying a lil too but I'm agnostic, and that just confuses everyone.

Please Harmonix include Soul to Squeeze! It's no doubt one of the most popular RHCP songs and was going to be included on the album but I don't think they wanted too many slow songs on it.
