How Natural Were The Drums?

I have never had any musical experience when it comes to real instruments. I started playing GHII for Xbox 360 about two months ago and I am currently playing GHII and III on Hard(five star most songs, but the point is I haven't played Expert much), and from the moment I picked up the sticks in the store and started beating the pads, it just came natural.

I had no problems playing Medium the first time I ever played. I have watched numerous others in the store try to play easy and just can't grasp the concept of the "beat" of the song. Is this alot of you? Did the drums just come natural when you started playing? I do relise that the bar will be raised when you add your foot into the equation with Final release, however.

Just curious as to how well all of you are doing on the demo drums.

I've only played twice on the Rock Band tour, so I got to use the pedal. I struggled with medium, but did just fine on easy. The pedal makes a big difference.

Edit: By "playing twice", I meant at two different stops. Between the two stops, I probably clocked in almost two hours of play time (jumping between lead and drums).

Yeah, it came pretty easy, but I have been watching vids trying to practice and prepare myself to include the pedal because that is where the difficulty comes in.

I don't understand how the pedal works....what do the pedal notes look like? Also, is there a good video where the pedal notes stick out?

Yea it's all about the pedal. Banging on the pads is a natural thing for most people, especially if your into music. I actually played drums and I sounded pretty good, but when I tried to mix in the bass pedal, it messed up my hand motions.

But dude, if your buying this game, you're going to become good at drumming. All you need is practice.

Pedal notes are the long orange bar going horizontal from each ends of the track.

I noticed those...they are in the demo. When you miss them in the demo, does it take off?

The demos play those notes automatically.

I did alright on expert on Tom Sawyer but I just know I'm gonna suck it when I HAVE to use that bass pedal....

My first drum song was Wave of Mutilation, a song near and dear to my heart. It took me a few seconds to fingure out what was happening, but i knew the beat in my mand and my hands just followed to the letter. It was amazing, and I ended up really getting into it and just wailing away. By the end I had to apologize for getting to into it to the guy playing guitar. HUGE grin on my face the whole time.
