View Full Version : Female vocals

I haven't seen very many suggestions for songs and bands with female vocals. I'm sure there are many women that would love to sing in this game while the rest of us rocked out on the guitar and drums. However, finding female vocalists that also rock and use all the instruments in the game proves to be a challenge. Here is a list in no particular order of artists and songs that could work.
Hole - Celebrity Skin
Heart - (Unfortunately Crazy on You has been used in Guitar Hero II and Barracuda is supposed to be coming)
Lita Ford - Kiss me Deadly (Not the greatest song but could work)
Pat Benatar - Heartbreaker (nice solo guitar at end)
or Hit Me with Your Best Shot
Breeders - Huffer(may be ok?)
Liz Phair - Extraordinary(?)
Veruca Salt - Seether
Blondie - One Way or Another
Cranberries - (This could be a stretch) Zombie, Dreams, or Salvation.
Janis Joplin - Piece of My Heart
Joan Jett - I Hate Myself for Loving You
The Donnas - Safety Dance (Gets the 80s kick as well as the Donnas again. Something else by them could be good too)
Vixen - Edge of a Broken Heart
Nightwish - Romanticide (perhaps something off an earlier CD than Once, most of their stuff is pretty symphonic and keyboard driven)
Lullacry- Pitch Black Emotions.
Kittie - Perhaps something off the newer album that has clean vocals.
Larisa Bryski - Butterflies
I would love some stuff from Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, Leaves Eyes, Epica or AFter Forever, but they tend to not fit the instruments of the game and be too symphonic or electronic. Arch Enemy has great music, but no woman I know could match the growls of Angela Gossow and that type of vocal would be hard to judge in the game as well.
Other ideas?

Good suggestions. I put the Mamas and Papas in mine and Garbage...

There's also Flyleaf and in particular Fully Alive from them. Maybe Metric too.

I just checked out Flyleaf and Metric. They both sound like they could work very well. I particularly liked Flyleaf.

i wouldn't mind seeing some joplin, garbage, cranberries, or some of the others you have suggested, these are fu8n, good groups/artist that needs to be in the game...and i am a joplin fan, personally i'd like to see sumertime, as performed by joplin and hendrix

Tsunami Bomb would be a wicked band with female vox to put into Rock Band. It's too bad that they're lesser known, because their punk would really liven the game up. ;)

How about The Grates?
Science is Golden (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ecuC8Iumd2A)
Rock Boys (http://youtube.com/watch?v=k35b7M-BtYI)
Message (http://youtube.com/watch?v=a-MJnIMWNq8)
Lies are Much More Fun (http://youtube.com/watch?v=2Ltx5krFJaw) (not an actual video, but the sound quality is good)
So they have some cool songs, but theres an obvious lack of bass.

I don't see why Zombie would be such a stretch. That song works for all four parts, and it has the great added hook of being a recognizable song. I would love to see it in the game.

Paramore's not bad either. Misery Business and Emergency are good songs.

any song by The Sounds would be good. If any, I could see something like Rock N Roll (http://youtube.com/watch?v=xoFbhLv0kFg) or Living in America (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjY4Wj_-Zec)

I'm sure Freezepop will be in there somewhere, and Vagiant might. I don't really know any of their songs other than the ones in Guitar Hero, though.
Do Rush and Coheed and Cambria count as female vocals?

I like Metric, good Canadian pop band, though I don't know if they'd make a good addition to Rock Band. Drums and vocals are good, guitars are a bit lacking.
How about Mindless Self Indulgence? Supposedly the lead singer is male but they could easily pass for female vocals

i submitted Misery Business by Paramore (check it on their Purevolume page). (http://www.purevolume.com/paramore)The vocals and drums would both be wicked fun to play and the guitar has a lil mini solo towards the end that would be awesome. Everything fits so perfect.
that lil chick can wail!
