I'll take Tomas Haake, Chris Adler, or Martin Lopez over either of those.

out of those two,the rev. because he made for some of the most fun drum tracks in the entire game.

^So you're going simply base the skill of a drummer based on how fun it is in Rock Band? By that logic... Judas Priest's drummer is the best ever
Wait untill Colony of Birchmen in RB2... that will own any A7X songs ass.
BTW please refrain from outside answers please. I was in arguement today and I want an honest answer out of those 2 suggestions to see what people think.

It's not that hard, all you gotta do is click on thread options then add poll. It would make it a lot easier than counting up in the posts.

Album art for the Mastodon Album, Leviathan their second album.
The meaning behind the thread was stemmed from me and my friend argueing at work which drummer was technically better. He was saying "The Rev" was much more original and brought more to metal than Brann did.
MY arguement was on the side of, Brann can play in odd time signatures considering they lend time signatures from Progressive Rock... his songs are more comprised of fills, most of which are different, but can still keep a good beat outside of it. He has a very unique playing style as well and doesn't blow out his bass pedals to "sound" good

Well, Blood Mountain is a more starter album... but any Mastodon fan will say their best works are Leviathan and Remission (First two albums)
They only have 3 but Blood Mountain is great too
Most people cannot get past the very unclean vocals

C&C is very good... I just got into Mastodon. Back a year ago when I all OMFG METAL CORE NU-METAL YAY! I though Mastodon was crap while listening to KoRn n crap...
Then my dad was pumping Rush one day and I was all HOLY HELL... THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME!
Ask my dad who they are, I check out Permanent Waves and my dad lent me 2112... Loved it
So I checked out more Progressive Acts and loved them... after getting into Dream Theater I thought "Is Dream Theater the only Prog Metal band?"
Wiki'ed it and got into Opeth and of the such and Mastodon too...
If you like Progressive and Metal you'll like Mastodon

Out of those two, Brann. But seriously, don't give such a broad title if you want just those two responses. So many better modern metal drummers (Haake, Lopez, Adler, Erlandsson (both of them), Vinnie Paul, etc. And that's not even including the 80s Thrash drummers like Dave Lombardo).

People should really check out Mastodon though, and Brann's Drumming will not disappointed
The Rev is a good drummer but he is far from great... I could consider Brann great due to his uniqueness. Like a Mastodon fan said
Comparing Brann to Peart is useless... put Brann behind Peart's kit Brann won't know what to do with the 50 cowbells, 70 toms and array of triangles...
Where as Niel wouldn't be as good behind a small kit like Brann's because Neil's talent comes from diversity and drummers usually good behind their kit... I mean any1 else see the angle of Brann's ride cymbal?

Peart's also famous for his technical precission. Much more so than Brann.

Definatly, godly technique on Peart and Portnoy's part...
I but Buddy Rich, Moon, and Bonham ahead of them seeing as they seemed to be ahead of their time.
Sorta like, I call John Myung the Neil Peart of the bass, while Cliff Burton the Bonham of the bass

I said The Rev because Afterlife and Critical Acclaim both win on drums.
