I think it would be an excellent gesture if each and every member of this community made an effort to send a pleasant PM, write a nice testimonial or request a friend at least once a day.
I, myself, have been doing this for the last couple of weeks and think it would be yet another way for this community to become even tighter.
The online friendships would grow for chatting, here on these forums and also, playing RB online.
Please let me know if you think this is a good idea as well.
Thanks all.
God love ya'.

Yes, yes you do. Though its glitched, you might have to repeat the process a few times to get credit.

I like to exchange pleasantries VIA the forums. Anytime I notice a cool avatar or a great sig., I let people know. A little politeness goes a long way towards making these forums tolerable (at the very least).

Q both FT.
It's like when I met jtrousd. We were all friendly and chatty and then we found out that we were on different consoles. :(
It's like Romeo and Juliet, I tells ya'.
Good point, though. There is too much console hating going on and I think that this would be a great way to bridge the gap, via friendships.
I don't care what console you're on, or what guitar you use. If you can finger tap your way to a GS on a beastly track, I'd like to talk about it. :)

So, really? Any thoughts about making this a tighter community?
I've been sending PM's, testimonials and friend requests for a good 2 hours straight but, not many people seem to be online yet. This topic should be buzzing in a few more hours, when all of the other posters get off of work/school.

Lets'd do it, We can all become E-Friends and talk about how awesome Harmonix is on the forums.
NOT!!!!!
I think this is an awesome idea.
The OP hewhoislikegod left a testimonial on my page a little while back and I thought that was cool as hell. We exchanged a couple of PM's and now we communicate on a regular basis. So what's the big deal right? Well, it takes random posters on the internet and makes this feel more like a community.
That's all kinds of awesome in my books. If I want to engage in random flamewars with people I can do that on many other forums. But here, because I effing love this game I want to be able to communicate with like minded players.
Nobody wants just randoms on their XBL or PSN do they? This is a perfect way to fill up that friend list.
Also, I notice that people don't hesitate to flame somebody around here when they don't appreciate a post but how many people give credit where it's due when they see a good post? It takes a few seconds to send a PM, add a friend or write a quick testimonial.
We need more of this I say!

I just get back from dinner with the wife and this is what I came back to?
Thanks a bunch sMexy!
That was the best possible response I could ever imagine and every word of it was bang on.
I want to see this develop into something bigger than a two day fad and is forgotten about, soon thereafter (like my "please fill out where you live" thread). I want this to become something bigger and memorable. Something that we can all look back on and say, "I remember when" and it was a whole different story afterwards/since then.
Keep 'em comin' guys. This really means something special to me (and hopefully many more).

Haha! I thought for sure that this was going to end as a joke-thread! Mostly because hewhoislikegod always seems like the first to throw the proverbial 'smack-down' post when he deems a post/thread unworthy!
He's never ruder than necessary...but always as rude as the situation permits! Don't get me wrong...I almost always enjoy his blunt (& sometimes scathing) posts. I'm just surprised to see him promoting peace and goodwill!

I admit that I can get carried away sometimes (especiall when it's 3:00am and I haven't slept in days) but for the most part, I'm one of those old geizers who is looking for some real, mind bending, intelligence waxing conversations about the politics of music and gaming. I really love this game and this forum with everything I've got.
Dude, that's a testimonial, put it on his rocker profile!
That made me laugh so much. That is, what I would call, a true testimonial to one's behaviour.
Mine are always generic remarks like, "He's a good guy", "He makes smart comments" or "We think a lot alike".
I guess I should put a little more effort into my future testimonials and go back and do some older ones over again.

Thank you.
While we're at it. There were a few new forum members in the thread that stated they wouldn't mind some friends etc. Just want to remind them to check their profiles because they probably have a friend request or two waiting for them.
I sent a couple out and only got one back from "hewhoislikegod" I will send out somemore. I really wanted a PS3 as I really wanted to play "Haze"

Gonna send a few more out today...just have to go over the thread and see whom I haven't sent a request to yet.
I find it a bit sad that we have to remind each other to do this sort of thing in the first place, but nonetheless it's a wonderful idea. I'll be happy to write Testimonials to those I come across in threads, and making new friends is always good too, especially if a good conversation gets going.

I guess it is a bit sad. Like I mentioned before it seems alot of people are more interested in coming to the forums to complain or flame someone else but they don't do the opposite when it's called for.
