Taxes happened, genius

:p

The $25 is the money you put down if you can't afford to pay the whole game at the time or don't want to. You obviously payed the entire thing: $169.99 then with added taxes it came out as that total.

well I knew taxes happend...I thought the 25$ was added on to the additional price to hold on the game and then you would get it back after you recieved the game

No, that 25 dollars goes towards the game. They take that as sort of a down payment so you can reserve it and it counts towards your total.

When pre-ordering, you have to put down a minimum of $25 (at GameStop at least). Welcome to the forums, WFA.

wtf? lol

it should be: $169.99 x .0825 (tax) = $14.02

$14.02 + $169.99 = $184.01

$184.01 - $25.00 = $159.01 TOTAL

you sure you put $25 down? or are taxes different over there? lol

No...no...no....It happened to me too. They told me that it wasn't ringing up at $169.00 at the time of my preorder. They also told me I would recieve a refund of the difference at pick up.

Tax rates vary from county to county, state to state.

Sales tax is different in each state. He apparently lives somewhere where the sales tax is 7.5%.

Sales tax varies from state to state. I think NY is over 8%. I'm in CT (6%) and neighboring MA is 5%.

At least you got to pre-order at a store, every gamestop was booked on reserves around me, I ended up having to order online... talk about expensive.

I've got like 7% state tax and 2.2% city tax on mine, taking it up to about $186. :(

My EB just told me they won't do a midnight release because they are only filling out preorders. It just so happened to be the same EB I used to work at. If they had just 10 preorders, it would fill up half of the back store room.
