Best Buy's Midnight Release.

1. Are they selling pre-orders? Or is the release for non-pre-orderers? (Or both?)

2. Realistically, what time might the lines be expected to form? (Anyone have experience with these things?)

The best buy in S setauket NY is not taking preorders and I was told that they would have "plenty." I don't know what time I should go but I don't want to be screwed out of it. I think I might play it safe and go right after work at 7:30pm on the 19th and go inside and talk to them.

I have a preorder on Amazon, but I won't be getting it until a few days or a week later than the 20th. I'm debating on weather I should cancel it and take the chance on the best buy, or leave amazon and return that one to best buy. idk what to do! :p

Yeah. I have an in-store preorder from GameStop ... but the difference between 12:01 am and 10:01 am seems huge right now.

Because I'm lame.

Id try to go there before 8 if i were you, because I have heard and witnessed here at one of the best buys near my house that they hand out tickets and you come back later. That may not be the case with this but just giving you a heads up. Always better to be prepared.

I called the Best Buy near me that's having a midnight sale (Madison Heights, MI), and was told that they've already sold out of all their pre-orders. I then asked if she thought they would have any extras available, to which she replied "maybe, but I'm not sure".

The conversation really didn't motivate me to stand outside their store for a few hours in hopes of getting one. Especially since I still have a bad taste in my mouth after the same store sold out of the Halo 3 Legendary set before I could get one during that midnight launch. I already have Rock Band pre-ordered at Amazon.com, so I'll probably just stick with getting the game through them. Oh, well.

I'm gonna head to that same BB at around 11:30 pm. I'm really not too worried about it being sold out for a midnight release.

I'd rather not wait out in the cold, when I'm gonna have to do that for Black Friday 3 days later :p

Do you really think they won't be sold out? Because if you are positive I'm soooo going to cancel my amazon order so I can rock out at 12:35am Nov 20th(allowing time for paying, driving and opening the box :p)

Our Best Buy (Manhattan, KS) didn't take any preorders. I'll probably start swinging by there around 10:00pm to make sure there isn't a line, and I plan on bringing a DS and some friends and hanging out from about 11:00pm until midnight.

Now that I spend most of my time at a "real job", I'm looking forward to the childish excitement of camping out in front of a store even more. :)

Just called best buy to see what they are actually selling at midnight

IT is just the GAME - there are no Bundles and no instruments. So How you all going to play the game at midnight?

You may want to check that out cause it's going to be hard to play the game without any instruments till the morning.

I checked yesterday with my local BB and they're going to be selling bundles too.

You got some faulty information, as Rock Band is only being released as a bundle at launch.

No it isn't. It is being released in the SE bundle and just the game. You would be able to play everything in RB except for the drums if you just bought the game.

Out here they will have both the bundle, and just the game itself. Those who are not sure id contact your BB and find out rather than going by what people are saying here, because a lot of times although one best buy gets something on time another one may have had a problem etc.

Just as an FYI, in the Phoenix area, there is only one Best Buy doing the Midnight release that I know of (on Camelback Rd). I called them for some info, and they said they will not be doing a ticket handout prior to midnight.. so it will be a stand in line type of release (which sucks). Not sure, but it may be like this for other Best Buy stores.

I just spoke to the two Best Buys within an hour of my home (DC).

Both are selling bundles.

Both are still taking pre-orders.

Both will also be selling non-pre-ordered bundles.

One thinks the procedure will be ticketed. One is just expecting a line to form.

I asked the store I plan on going to about preordering, and the guy told me they're only doing online preorders. However, it only lets you preorder the game on Best Buy's website, not the bundle. Therefore, I would assume you'll be able to get the bundle without already having a preorder. :)

My BestBuy has no preorders or midnight release. I spoke to a stockperson, he said they had a ton of rb's in the back. 50 or more. I clarified that they were se versions. Don't think I'll have a problem getting one unless they're all 360 versions.
