If you don't know what QM EL and SL models are then don't bother.
Now, for those of you who do know... I bought Rock Band for Xbox 360 about a month after it came out or less (Nov '07), I'd bet an arm that I have an EL model, their first model. (Not sure cause it's at my BF's house right now) It is not very sensitive when I play, registers wonky in general, drops notes and on expert (that I recently moved to) this is a problem. I didn't notice how crappy my set was right away until I played a lot of people's newer sets throughout the year at school.
I no longer have my receipt or anything, but given the fact that I have an EL set and most of them suck really bad, will Rock Band just replace it? Period?

Yep, they sure will, until October 1st.

Omg, that's awesome. Thank you. I'm so glad I asked in time.

You should note that you will most likely get another set of EL's. They will most likely be the newer and improved version of the EL, but I haven't heard anyone recently post claiming that they got a set of QM's or SL's.
Not that it matters, you can get a bunk set or an outstanding set of pads in any model.
