So after reading the 5 page article with Alex Rigopaloozalous and getting very geeked out about being able to buy a Tshirt with my bands name and logo on it i began to wonder about DLC.

Most people worry about the price of the DLC especially when hundreds or thousands of songs will be popping up over the next year. I was also concerned about HD space.

I have downloaded stuff for GH2 before but couldn't remember how much space each particular song used. I would check my 360 but i recently sent my console in for repair for the 2nd time in the past 6 weeks(Should be back today, im just happy to have it back for Tuesday).

I only have the 20G HD so i was just wandering if im going to need to invest some money in the 120G HD. I would assume the songs would take up around the same amount of space as GH3 songs. Any info would be appreciated.

I imagine Rock Band songs will take more space than GHIII, simply because GHIII has two seperated tracks, and then the band, while Rock Band has each track seperated (1-2 more sound files that need to be seperate) Also, if you plan on buying a lot of songs, go for the 120. It's looking like a good investment to me too.

This is really where the 360 blows chunks. The proprietary hard drive. $180 for 120 GB is a complete and utter rip-off. I have both the 360 and a PS3 but since all my friends have a 360 that is the version I am going to get. On the PS3 you can buy an off the shelf laptop hard drive and throw it into the machine. The DLC is really going to add up for me. Out of all the OXM announcements I wanted them all.

Someone else stated in a similar thread that they estimated each song on RB to be about 30-35 MB in size. That said, you can assume that 100 songs would take up about 3-4GB on your HDD.

Right now I still have 10GB left on my 20GB HDD. That means I can potentially download another 300 songs before having to upgrade to a 120GB HDD.

But, I remember seeing that the GH3 DLC is about 10-12MB per son. So maybe you can get 100 songs and use up (minimum) 1GB. In that case, you wouldn't have to buy a new HDD since 10GB would let you store 1,000 more songs.

Also, I read about this thing that connects to the HDD connector on top of the XBox 360. You can connect your 360 HDD to it, but then it also has another USB connector that you can hook up to a PC. From there, you can store stuff from your 360 onto your PC. I think it's called something like "infinite" or "endless" XBox 360 HDD and costs somewhere around $120.

I also saw something at Fry's that lets you transfer data from one of those 512MB memory cards to your PC. That might be a cheaper alternative: pay $15 for the transfer cable, and another memory card for $50. $65 total!

EDIT: Hey, does anyone know if you can use one of those USB flash drives with the 360? How about an external hard drive made for PC?
